If you pick option B and lose, you get nothing!

I'd pick the 50% change of winning $100,000.

50% is a lot and the difference between $10,000 and $100,000 is just too much.

I need $10,000 WAY more than no money at all, so I'll take the safe route.

I am not really immediately in need of money, so it's worth the gamble. Just imagine what you can do with $100,000

If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all. With that said, I'll take the $10,000.

I don't really need any money immediately and I'm fine just the way I am at the moment, so I would take the 50% chance of getting $100,000 because it is quite a big chance.

I think I'll take the $10k. If, however, I continuously could pay $10k for a 50% chance at $100k till I get it, I'd do that.

Or, better yet, if I could come in with four friends who all get the same choice, we could all choose $100k and split the winnings.

Statistically and rationally, option 2 is far better off. However in reality the thought of not winning anything when you could have had the guaranteed 10k makes people choose the safer option 1.

I would go with option 2.

I was about to say the same. I'm still risk averse, but I think I'm willing to take the risk as long as the chance is at least 25%.

Risk for $100,000 for me. The chances aren't too bad and plus, to me, you can go through $10,000 quite easily if you really were that bad with your money.

Win 10 grand most definitely  10k at this point in my life would help me out significantly! Yes 100k is a lot and 50% is not a bad chance, but I would much rather receive the 10k right now to get me through school to get my degree, which very possibly could get me to the 100k a year by landing me a good paying job.

I would go ahead and take the 50% chance. If I win, that'd be amazing. However, if I lose, nothing changes.. I'll just be back to where I am. I say it's worth the risk.
