If I am at work or something and I want to go to a forum I visit, I need to be able to remember the url.

I would say it needs mods and admins that encourage discussion and debate and engage with the users instead of flaming them and arbitrarily enforcing rules and spending time in the staff thread berating various users and making plans amongst themselves to get rid of those they disagree with.
