A man accidentally shot himself

A Texan man ended up in hospital with gunshot wounds after he opened fire on an armadillo.

Cass County officials say the man suffered a graze to the head after he fired at the heavily-armored creature and the bullet ricocheted off and hit him.

The man was taken from his home in the Marietta area to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Sheriff’s deputies classified the incident as an accidental shooting and the gunman has not been named.

Unfortunately, the well-being of the armadillo has not been confirmed.

But the animal sounds pretty tough.
