Advertising, Targeting of Children

Yes. Children are young and highly suggestible - It is morally wrong to take advantage of that.

I agree. Makes me wonder why some cigarettes have cartoon mascots (like camel).

MCDONALDS IS GUILTY!

So cheap of them, I work at a kid's place and it makes me sad and angry at McDonalds every time a kid throws a fit about wanting to go to McDonalds.

Burger King is better anyway...

Advertising is designed to appeal to their demographic--and if your demographic is 6 year old girls--that's what you're going to try to appeal to.

I don't have a problem with it.

BTW, Nebulous Camel has been eliminated by act of Congress. Adult products can't use cartoon advertising.

I don't have a problem with it either. If a company is selling Barbies targeted at 6 year olds, it's still the parents that need to buy it. It may also help the parents getting a gift or present.

The only time I have a problem with it, is when it is obviously targeted at kids when it is something you need to be of age, or is harmful to the health. Like smokes to kids.. Or things like that.

Like I said, Nebulous Camel was banned (at least in the US) by an Act of Congress...as was Spuds Mackenzie.

Oh I didnt know that..

they've been banned for a few years now.

Adult products--cigarettes and booze mainly, can no longer have 'cartoon' images for a mascot--or any other image that appeals to younger people.
