I prefer Avira and UnThreat. I never liked AVG. Its detection rate is pretty terrible and it's heavy on the resources...

I use a combo of Avast and malwarebytes. Seems to do the trick, haven't had any problems yet.

Same here, but I also use a free version of Spybot as an extra measure. I like to call it 'The Holy Trinity of Computer Safety', at least for me. Avast detects and blocks the majority of threats. Malwarebytes detects & removes stuff the Avast misses, and Spybot detects & removes stuff Malwarebytes misses. It also provides browser immunization, so it serves as an extra layer of protection.
