Anyone loves Cannoli?

A long time ago at an Italian street fair far, far away....

I tried all sorts of them. Sweet, savory, baked, fried... etc.

Some were touted as being dead on straight and narrow faithful to the original somebody's great grandmother made "back home", and some were supposed to be a modern take on the straight and narrow dead grandmother's......

Yeah, whatever.

Most were too sweet, the majority were a lot of wrapper and little filling, some were an inedible greasy mess, and so on.

This was where the deed was done, except it would be the 1990(something) edition, if you're in the neighborhood next year (all puns at no extra charge), you can go try them as well:

They’re nice little desserts, but most are too rich with cream cheese for me. I do prefer the ones with custard filling, though they’re not exactly traditional. Still, if I’m going for custard, I’d rather have Portuguese tarts...they’re so much better. :eat:
Costco have some, I had my eye on them last time I was there but didn’t get any. Maybe that’s why I’m mentioning them now! :DThey’re not exactly traditional either....Costco’s version is a bit off, but oh well, they still taste good.

Anyway, back to cannoli, yeah, they’re not really my thing, for the reasons I mentioned.
