Some people are so confident on the theory that our world will end, pretty much randomly, in an apocalyptic way, ending everything instantaneously. Others, like myself, believe in a more realistic end to the planet, an end that actually makes sense, such as the sun exploding or galaxies colliding. Those who favour the apocalyptic scenario typically associate it with no logical explanation, it just happens. What do you think?

I believe it'll end when the season is right. Probably during a troubling time for the world, when there's chaos, murder, school shootings, nuclear weapons, nuclear wars, and so much more going on. No date or year in particular, but whenever we do go out, I believe it'll be sudden. Whether it's a collision or by another means, it's unpredictable.

I think you copied and pasted this from somewhere. You spelled favorite with a 'u' and you are american.

Anyways, I think the world will eventually get too hot that nothing can survive on it, but I dont think it will ever end. It will just be a lifeless ball like all the other planets.

The Earth has been here for 4.5 billion years. If anything, we will die off long before this planet does if we ever actually do that. I like to think even people being as stupid as they are in large groups have enough sense to never actually go out and do anything that would kill everything. I don't think it will ever happen and even if it does, I imagine we would be able to build technology that can send people into space fast enough to reach planets while still alive that could sustain life as we know it by then.

I'm with Jughead--when the time is 'right' the Earth will be no more. Personally, I think it will be by fire of some sort....

Lots of reasons, so many I can't think of them all. But two people that were from two different times, both predicted that an apocolypse would happen in 2012. I don't really listen to the mayans stuff. But there were documenturies on history, discovery and sci fi about Nostradamous and what he predicted. It's really intriging and very beliveable.

I guess we won't get to see 2 Pac come back from the dead in 2014

Seriously though, the option of believing that someone from a time long ago managed to comprehend that the world would end doesn't really seem believable and for the record I have studied the calender and whatnot, I used to see it as a possibility but now I don't. One could mention that it's almost like every six years something bad is predicted, 2000, the Y2K theory, 2006, they thought the devil was going to return, and 2012 the worlds going to end. 2018, Kurt Cobain returns as a real version of Eric Draven.

I honestly believe that the world will eventually come to an end but it is far after any of our life times.

Well, some will argue that the Earth Isn't that old, that a almighty bean/entity of some sort created the universe and the Earth not too long ago...

Then those people are stupid.

.

Those were different, they were just assumptions by average people and not pschyics.

They also belive that there was an apocalypse before and that it is what caused atlantis to dissapear.

Just for the record, it is foolish to 100% believe someone from hundreds to thousands of years ago just because they claim they could see into the future. There's a good chance that they could not, I mean, would you believe some crazy on the street if he was running around saying the world was going to end in five minutes? Think about that for a moment and give me a good answer. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't. Same prinicple applies with Nostradamus and all of the other people who predicted a 2012 apocalypse.

And Nebulous, yes, I know there is already another thread for a discussion of 2012 but, this thread is a discussion of any apocalypse in general. Will we die naturally or horrifically without any logical explanation? That is the debate, and 2012 falls under the debate. Sorry.

This will confuse you

Yggdrasil will destruct and the gods will be defeated by other members or branches of Yggdrasil. The forces of chaos will overthrow the divine human guardians. Loki's bond with his childen will be destroyed, the dead from Nifflheim will attack the living, and the watchman of the gods, Heidmall, will summon the heavenly hosts. Then the final battle between order and chaos begins. This is also known as Ragnarök. The gods will be defeated like their own fate. Since they know all about this they gathered and trained the finnest warriors, like Einherjar. He will fight along with the gods when that day comes, but the will be powerless against the chaos that has descended upon them destroying their world. The chaos always takes over, but a new and better world always emerges from the ashes after the war.

And it will look abit like this
