(CNBC Television) President Joe Biden delivers remarks criticizing oil companies for profits he calls a 'windfall of war,' even as inflation is still hitting the economy.

It's Biden's fault. He's done nothing but make things very difficult. I don't buy anything he says. Instead of lying like an asshole on public television about it with the whole "it's their fault" card as usual, he should own up to it and undo the strict regulations and policies he's put on the oil industry which lead to inflation in the first place. This Youtube User said it best.

What they are probably doing is storing their money away to be used in investing in pipelines and other such things when America elects a president that isn't openly hostile towards them and that doesn't necessarily mean a Republican either. That would just be good financial sense.

And yet those companies are sitting on about 8-9 thousand leases for oil/gas projects across America; what Biden should do is tell them "Either start using those leases now or lose them."

*sees disagreement* Hey, if they're not willing to use the leases they already, why should the U.S. government allow them to keep those leases?

I'll just put this here.

I know how revenue works; I also know they've got plenty of places to search for oil and gas if they'd get off their asses and use all those nice leases they have at present.

This isn't a fight he can win. The more regulations, fines, royalty fees, and penalties Biden charges them; the more they'll keep inflating their prices. Cause and effect. You know who pays for it? We do. Maybe the old man should piss off.

*shrugs* So be it.
