A cat manages to find its way onto the pitch during the premier league match between Liverpool and Tottenham at Anfield.

The feline intruder made its appearance 11 minutes into the game, stopping the match as Spurs goalkeeper Brad Friedel tried to shepherd it towards the touchline.

After a minute-long delay, the cat was eventually escorted from the pitch by Anfield stewards.

Its moment of fame was enough to earn the cat a following on twitter. Nearly 17,000 users of the micro-blogging site have signed up to the account @AnfieldCat

The game itself ended in a no-score draw, with Spurs staying third and Liverpool seventh in the Premier League table.

Wonder where this cat came from????

Would have been even more funny if it had made a goal!
