China surpasses US as world's largest economy

I'm not surprised at all. But now the American government is going to have more to piss and moan about not being the "greatest" country in the world. xD Like we ever were in the first place.

Demonizing Capitalism and adding ball busting regulations by the hundreds of thousands will do that to a economy. Not to mention laws that force people to hire less and force companies to move or not expand from the likes of obama care, minimum wage, forcing power plants to shut down with bogus global warming concerns, etc. All the while the Chinese are laughing at the stupidity of liberal thinking and are expanding like gang busters daily.

So we should just simply gut everything and be like the Chinese?
Sorry, Liberty, but I suspect most Americans' would like to have clear air, clean water, a decent environment, a decent wage, worker rights, etc,etc.etc...and isn't it just a bit ironic that, back when there were more regulations on the books than there are now - i.e. the 50's & early 60's - the economic engine that is America was running pretty damn good.

Maybe if we went back to those economic days, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

The key to industrial wealth is energy. Back in the 18oo's coal was king and Britain had plenty of it.
Today we've still got plenty of coal in the ground. We've got shale gas down there too. We even know how to use nuclear energy.
So what do we do? We build silly giant windmills all over our beautiful countryside and coasts.

Be like the Chinese no. Have sensible regulations that are elected officials should be voting on and not just let some unelected group decide willy nilly, no! But we Setup tens of thousands of pages of regulations numbering in hundreds of thousands of regs so no one can operate in this country without breaking some rule so government can control everyone and everything is being insanely extreme insane and putting a noose on Americas neck.

There were no where near more regulations back then. Not even close. We have had more regulations since 1994 until now then throughout Americas entire existence.

And then have certain leaders do everything in there power to shut down coal and nuclear. Because of those polices we almost had a grid failure because they could not handle the energy use from the cold winter we had. God help us if we get another cold winter this year for the north. Because only Texas and Florida will do okay since we are both on our own power grid.

basically the lesson over the last 20 years is that capitalism works better under communism that it does under a democracy... who saw that one coming 25 years ago.. do you remember when the 'commies' were actually the bad guys?

Now imagine how powerful and productive they would be if they allowed capitalism to continue with the people having freedom to produce. Kinda how we were a long, long time ago.
