Sure! It's edgier than usual today though; the CFO of a company that a heavy portion of r/WSB is invested in, killed himself today, you might see a lot of memes about that ^-^
I saw that in the news. YIKES!:(

Ah I had no clue that @Fait's forum merged with Offtopix! I'm happy it merged with the forum, so the threads get to live on. :)
I'm sorry about Pulse I'm just not much of a gamer anymore and only music I like is rock/metal and hip hop :(

I have to say that, IMHO, you have done the right thing by "your people".
I had been the member of a small forum, in fact an admin, for...I don't know how long, but well over 10 years. In it's 'glory days' there were maybe 30-ish members. There were 7 or 8 active members toward the end, some had decided they liked (on & off) Facebook instead.
The owner got very discouraged about this dwindling....understandable. But one day recently I and others went to check in & found the doors closed, locked and chained.
It was my main hangout & there were a few of my posts that I would have liked to retrieve had there been a way.
I see the way that was done as nothing but complete selfishness.

What I see that you have done under similar circumstances is SOOOO commendable!
I'm so glad that I have happened upon this particular forum....suits me so well. And, truthfully, this forum is totally better than the other one ever was; although it was fun too.

It's nice when you find a "home" within a community, isn't it? Had a couple of forum homes in my time, they just feel so welcoming, so encouraging.

Nebulous has done an amazing job with this forum his definitely an inspiration, and thank you, I definitely didn't want to see all data just vanish either like it never existed that's wrong.

I am working on a new basketball forum, I am a basketball fan and there's not many decent forums out there for it so I want to try it out, I may be on to something! :)

Do you think Reddit has killed traditional forums? :) or do forums still have a chance!

And that's the good thing it's not like I completely deleted everything forever.

I just want to do a forum that I'm actually interested in. Basketball.

Has Reddit killed forums? No. Probably all the other social media platforms though.

Killed himself? Why?

Reddit couldn't kill off anything, lmao. Reddit is honestly such a cesspool of stupidity and lacks any substance to compare with a forum. Forums have and always will be better.

As to whether or not forums have a chance? With today's generation, hell no. They all have very short attention spans and would much rather spend their time on a shitty site like tik tok.
