Just cremate them and dispose of them with some dignity.
How does that have more dignity than what they are going to start offering? As neither of the options strike me as particularly egregious. It is just surprising to me that one has dignity to you and the other doesn't. Whereas they seem quite similar to me.
 
*looks at TGP blurb above* Makes sense; one way to push the market is to ban the sale of certain new products and given the size of California's economy, businesses will have two choices: (1) build two different types of water heaters - one for CA markets, one for the rest of America - or (2) build products for all of America that match/exceed California standards.

We're starting to see this with automobiles as California bans the sale of new gas/diesel vehicles starting in 2035; this is but another step in decarbonizing America.
