The truth are you serious? That whole blog post was completely pathetic, put together by someone who obviously has a clear agenda, misconstrued all facts and overall made themselves look like a complete idiot.
Seriously?
I'm sorry but this guy can't even seem to grasp the idea that all Christians aren't perfect. I'm not allowed to accuse anyone who believes in Jesus Christ of violating one of his commandments? (although the verse in question was written by Paul not Jesus)
I don't hate the flag, I shouldn't have said that.
But you claim that the flag stood for liberty and states rights? Slavery was the primary cause of the civil war, the southern states wanted states rights so they continue to violate human rights and keep slavery legal.
And to say that slavery in the United States was not related to race is just false. The vast majority of slaves were black, blacks did not have the right to vote, they were lynched in the south and a primary reason the south fought the civil war is they didn't believe blacks should have equal rights.
To say that slavery was on its way out anyway is also false, human workers worked in cotton fields for many decades after the civil war. The cotton gin itself was the primary cause of the revival of slavery. Tobacco was indeed on the way out as an industry for the employment of slaves.
[font=arial, helvetica, sans-serif]The second lie that I wish to address here is that slaves were mistreated in the Old South. Again, this is not true. In Colossians 4:1, the Apostle Paul wrote, Masters, give unto your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven.[font=arial, helvetica, sans-serif] To say that slaves were mistreated in the Old South is to say that the most Christian group of people in the entire world, the so-called Bible Belt, mistreated their servants and violated the commandments of Jesus their Lord. Anyone who says this is an accuser of the brethren of Jesus Christ, which is not a very good position to take.
