Do you think one day forums could overtake social media and more people will be flocking to forums and leaving their social media presenses?

I'm afraid Social Media is here to stay and forums are not as big as they used to be. Maybe they might make a big come back but who knows?

I believe we may start to see the ideas begin to morph, and, in some ways, they already have. Reddit and Tumblr are examples where the ideas kind of blend together. The larger, mainstream-ness of social media will always stump forums, but that doesn't mean there won't be people who seek out the more intimate and calmer vibe a forum can provide. Social media is the big city. Forums are the village where everyone knows everybody and no one locks their door. Sure, a madman takes advantage of this every now and again and starts a murder spree, but what can you do?

I think social media will always be more popular over forums to this day and beyond. Most social media has means of interacting with those you are close to or people you are trying to reach out to in a specific manner, such as Instagram for graphics and LinkedIn for careers. As mentioned above, places like Reddit are kind of a mix of social media and a forum the way everything is processed. Social media offers a more enhanced user experience which most people are after these days, where it has pretty much revolutionized the internet. Forums were once really popular, but I don't foresee forums ever taking over social media in terms of popularity. I think forums just may evolve in different ways that make them different than what forums used to be like in the past and perhaps even the present.

It is the opposite. Forums lost the battle and they will lose it even more as the time pass by.

Everything takes time to get off the ground including forums I don’t think forums will go away completely since facebook has been around for years and there’s still quite a few active forums out there.

My site for example I consider it an information platform I don’t compete with Facebook which is designed for friends and family and less on the information side of things.

Forums are not as popular but there always be people out there that like certain things such as forums since our earth population is massive.

I don't think so.. but everyone that looks for serious information ends up reading a forum! No one believes what's on tiktok or facebook!

Maybe twitter is similar to what we consider a forum..

Unfortunately I don't think forums will ever top social media these days. Of course there are plenty of active forums online, and there's always going to be people who prefer forums to social media but unless the servers go down for all the social media platforms, forums will never be able to top social media.

I love that analogy XD.

No, quite the opposite. Social media like Twitter, Discord, Facebook Groups, and WhatsApp have taken over in popularity. But there are still many quality forums around these days; it's just evolved.

Depends on the individual. Social media is great for extroverts who love the spotlight to be on themselves. They want everyone to pay attention to them, what they are doing and the perfect life they are leading. Forums are more for the opposite type of person. :P

It is going to be difficult, to be honest. A lot of people that use forums do so because of the love for it and not because they can't fix themselves on social media. There is a bigger audience on social media platforms that will make people prefer it to forums.
