Do you read customer reviews on things you are planning to buy?

(even if you dont buy things online, you can search for the product and read what people say)

I was looking on amazon for a kid's pool for my daughter and her friends. Its going to be warm here within a month or two.

I found this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00005O6TY and this review made me laugh:

This pool is huge, and therefore takes forever to fill. And it won't stand up straight unless it's quite full....and that won't happen satisfactorily unless it's perfectly level on the ground. There is no snapping, just you struggling to hold up some of the sides while the hose flails around. Seems easier just to spray yourself with the hose and be done with it.

Clearly that reviewer has no intelligence.

I do read reviews and I do consider them before purchasing an item.

Yeah Ive bought that same pool before and I know what she is talking about.. But you can make it work easily if you are not a moron.

For expensive items I do. If an item has got several bad reviews then I look for another make or model.

Sometimes I do--but it's not usually for things that I am seriously considering buying (if that makes sense)

Usually it's when I see something advertised on TV (oh yeah right, like a new bra is going to change your life THAT much) and I look online to see what the customer reviews are. Usually they're about 1/2 and 1/2.

Always. I've used reviews for my phones, TV's, and various items. My cell phone is the LG Chocolate, and it had some great reviews, and sure enough, it proved to be a nice phone. No problems with it so far, thanks to the reviews. Almost got this other phone, but on the reviews, it said that the battery is constantly dying and it's hard to text with. However, pretty much positive reviews on my phone, and that's what really encouraged me to get it. So yes, I use reviews/write them.

Yes I read them and subscribe to Consumer Reports.

I review products for a UK newspaper. At the moment, I am testing out some expensive body scrub, stuff I could never justify buying myself
