So, if your best friend broke up with his/her long term girlfriend/boyfriend--would you date them?

If my best girl friend broke up with her boyfriend--and I was available, I don't think I'd date him. What do you think? Would you? Why or why not?

No that crosses the friend line. Ive had friends do that to each other and it always creates a whole ugly mess.

I totally agree. Besides, my friends have good taste, if they don't want the guy--why should I?

I do, as long as the girl is hot

So you would date your friends ex girlfriends?

Thats not being a good friend I would say, unless your friend has no problem with it. But sometimes when someone says they dont have a problem with something, they really do.

Yes I would, as my friends wouldn't care a crap, same for me. I don't care a crap.

Lol.. well you are still young. Wait until you get older and fall into love, perhaps have kids with someone. Then your friends go sleeping with your ex (also the mother of your children). Ive seen it happen before... Not pretty.

No, for all the reasons Nebulous stated. It will cause conflict in the friendship. From personal experience, I'll tell you that it is a huge no-no. Never consider it, not matter how tempted you are to date them. I dated a girl who my friend really liked, and me and him tolerate each other, but are not the same anymore since then.

I regret it, but we learn from our mistakes, don't make a stupid one that is avoidable.

I know 2 guys that work together--one guy broke up with his girlfriend, and the other guy dated her. The one throws it up to the other one when they get mad--it's not good at all.....
