Death Penalty, For or Against?

But hey, if someone locked someone in a room for 2 days, that is inhumane. But if they are locked in a prison for years, that is even worse. I think 10 fold is a little far, I think double or triple would do just fine.

I can assure you, Prison would not be like a Resort

As clever as I'm sure you think that comment is, it actually shows an extreme lack of thought on your part. If prison is not a resort & prison is where we send regular criminals like thieves & dealers, than wouldn't murderers need a harsher punishment than the guy who got caught with some weed?

That works fine for thieves & gang members, but we're talking cold blooded killers here. Surely you can understand how life in prison just doesn't cut it.

Heres the thing, a family is distraught because a family member has been killed, I am sure they would not want another family going through the same thing, sure they would be pissed, but murdering the murderer just makes another family depressed.
They do give them a little bit of freedom, keeping them locked up 24/7 would just be inhumane though, worse than murder as it is practically torture.

Really now? How does 23.5 hours of lockdown grab you? The half hour that isn't spent in lockdown is spent walking to and from chow hall.
Seriously, if it were my choice I'd take that injection.

Thats what I am trying to get at, it makes the inmates even worse than they are

(I am very sorry to hear about your husband.)

Wait what? What does that even mean? Prison makes the criminals worse than they went in. The death penalty doesn't allow for any further downfall. It seems like you are arguing our side now.

I am saying locking them up for nearly 24 hours a day is making them worse, and it is inhumane, but the death penalty is even worse. There is no perfect crime for murder, they are too small or too big.

Murdering them is doing no good.

You know what I've noticed? Those murderers who are killed, don't get back on the street to kill people! Isn't that weird? I just don't understand it! Oh & no I wasn't addressing you Smooth.

It is the murderer who is responsible for the sorrow of their family. It's no secret that if you kill someone you could be put to death.

And when the Murder gets killed, it is the family of the murdered who is responsible for the sorrow of his/her family. Life does not revolve around mutual actions.

What do people's families or their feelings have to do with justice?

This is how, why do people charge others for murdering someone? Its because the family s saddened by the life wasted.

If the Iranian psychiatrist was found alive, I would definitely say penalty death !

I'm sorry but if people commit such crimes, they should be put to death. They decided to waste someone else's life so they should give their own... Actually they should get back what they did 10 fold like I said before.

Like I said in regards to your other comment:

If we used that logic, nobody would be punished for anything.

Its quite shocking that you are such an advocate for murderer's and rapists rights but seem to care very little about punishing them for the crimes they committed and bringing the victim's families some justice. Im sure the convicted's families are sad about them being locked away in prision forever, so why not just let them out? Perhaps we should let them roam free and allow them to and continue to rape, torture, etc, and kill people? After all we dont want to upset their families or punish them because we would be the same as them if we decided to punish them for doing wrong.. Right?

Sorry but I have to disagree.

I am not saying Murdering or Raping is good. I am just saying killing them isnt going to help anybody. If you want them to suffer, just lock them up. Smooth, I dont want to try offend you by saying this but here goes. In Smooth's case, her husband was convicted of something he didnt do. She admit's she had a hard time trying to prove him innocent, imagine what she would have been going through knowing her husband was basically murdered for being wrongly accused?
