First off, not EVERYTHING that "goes bump in the night" is a Ghost.
"Ghosts" by definition, are what's left of a Person in this world after their body has assumed room temperature.
There are other entities and 'presences' that can manifest themselves in the here and now, some can interact with the local residents, others don't, or won't, and still others that don't care who or what is around when they come out to play.
