At this point it is just an announcement trailer to let us know it is in early production. I am still hopeful that even in spite of current business trends that this could be an amazing game. I am definitely going to be keeping an eye on it. Considering I am still currently rewatching DBZ I am definitely in the mood for a game like this.

I played the first ones when they first came out. I'd be lying if I said I was excited. That's what you get when they've made 20 other DBZ fighting games.

That is fair enough, I was really into the initial Budokai trilogy but didn't really play the Budokai Tenkaichi trilogy because of when they came out. So it has been one I was curious about. I skipped most of the DB games that came our after Budokai 3 except unfortunately Ultimate Tenkaichi which I mistook as a sequel to Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and the Xenoverse games which I loved. Oh and Fighter Z and Kakarot. But most of the PS3 and later PS2 games I didn't play. So I am getting excited. Just hope they don't do a Xenoverse 2 with a million dlc character packs.

Budokai Tenkaichi 3 was a really fun game. If they can get close to that then it will be a worthwhile pickup!

I just didn't get that sense of completion out of them the way I did other games.

It was satisfying to beat my friends. I never liked those games when I was just playing by myself.

It would be really nice if it could recapture that experience. Even with the limited playtime I had with it, I enjoyed it. I am also really curious to see how it differentiates itself from the Xenoverse series, which is one that I am much more familiar with. I loved both Xenoverse 1 and 2.

Same here. They were super fun when I was a kid but now I think they are pointless.
Ultimately this could be said about any game really. Although totally get that different genres and series/titles will have different mileage among people. I still find that I really enjoy them though. I can quite happily play through the Budokai HD Remastered today which is almost 20 years after I was enjoying them on PS2. Although I am a fan of anime fighters. I also really enjoyed the Ninja storm and My Hero Academia titles.

Good point.

Also i can play 20 year old games for days as well. That nostalgia factor makes them more fun I guess.

I think it definitely also helps if you enjoy the source material that they are drawing from. It is quite a crucial element that I am currently rewatching all of the Dragon Ball series, as that does add to the enjoyment of playing through Dragon Ball titles. Although that by itself isn't enough. Haha as there have been a few Dragon Ball games which I detested and found minimal enjoyment at best in.
