-- ONE --

It was now two month on since the birth of thier daughter, Keira. Sarah and John were a month into planning for thier wedding in summer and already knew where they wanted it, the colour scheme and who the best man and bridesmaids were going to be. John's best man was going to be, Gavin, his manager and best friend. The bridesmaids were going to be, Kirsty, her former ASDA collegue, Carole, Clare, her sister and niece. The wedding was a good few months off yet, but, already the venue and reception were booked.

Carole was still in the UK, helping out when she could, so John and Sarah could have a little time to themselves now and then. Sarah was a great mum and she loved it. The sleepless nights were hard to begin with. But, now they had her in a routine that worked perfectly for them both. They learnt, that when they put her down for a nap, that's when they could go for a nap, too. That way, when she wakes at night - which wasn't that often, they'd be ready for her. John was a great dad and helped out with everything to do with Keira - even nappy changing! The only thing he wasn't able to do, was feeding time - obviously!

Keira was now starting to settle into her new surroundings. She had her daddy's crystal blue eyes, his mouth, even his contageous smile! She had a lot of John's features, but a lot of her mothers too. She was already beggining to grow a little hair on her head. She had her mummy's hands, nose and ears. She didn't like bath time very much yet, either. She didn't seem to like getting wet. She was a little wriggler when bath time came around. She loved nap time, she was a sucker for her sleep. Most nights, she'd sleep right through. On the odd night she didn't, usually it was daddy's fault, being noisey when he went to the bathroom and disturbed her!

***

John carried little Keira up the stairs, to put her down for her afternoon nap. Come on then, little sleepy head, time for your nap. John whispered to her as he pushed open the door. Placing her, slowly into her basket, he placed the blanket over her little body and kissed her lightly on her little forehead. Sweet dreams, pumpkin. Mummy and daddy love you very much He smiled. Walking out of the room, closing the door quietly, John made his way downstairs to where Sarah was sitting at the breakfast bar, with Carole.

You are doing fantastic with Keira, you to were meant to be parents. Carole smiled. Thank you Sarah replied. John really thinks the world of you, he worships the ground you walk on. To him, you're perfection. There's nothing about you he doesn't love. He told me, the night you gave birth to Kiera, that he was determined to show you and people around you, how much you mean to him. Carole explained.

Sitting in the kitchen, windows open, the sound of church bells rang around the cul-de-sac. That'll be us, soon. John replied, wrapping his arms around her softly and kissing her neck. Oh, there you are, was woundering where you got to. Sarah replied, grabbing his hands that were sitting around her waist. I was putting pimpkin to bed. John smiled, kissing her cheek. I've missed this, just sitting here, spending a little time with you, while Keira is asleep. Sarah replied.

Carole smiled as she watched them together, spending time with his future wife and enjoying it. She loved to see him happy, it made her feel good, knowing he was content with his life now and was looking forward to it. John's world revolved around that woman, without her, he was nothing. She was his world, his life, his everything. Carole loved Sarah very much, they got a long very well. His parents loved her, they thought she was a diamond, a one in a million girl with a heart of gold and a love for him that no other woman could give him.

Any thought on what you want your future to be? Carole asked. To be happy together and enjoy watching our daughter grow up. John replied. Tell you what. Take a walk out on the beach or something, go spend some time together. Carole smiled. But, Keira.. John began. I'll look after her for an hour or so, I know what I'm doing, I am a mother too, after all. Carole smiled. Are you sure? Sarah asked. Positive, now go on.. Go out and have fun. Enjoy the time togther, while I'm here. Carole smiled.

***

Walking along the beach, waves lapping at thier feet, the sun was shining down on the sand. It was like they were on a date, they held hands as they walked along the soft, warm sand. Since Keira was born, I feel as though I've fallen for you all over again John smiled. I know what you mean, I feel exactly the same Sarah replied. I just wish we could spend more time together, but I know that'll be hard to do, what with a baby to look after John replied. Doesn't mean we can't have 'us' time when she's put to bed. Sarah replied. I suppose so. John replied. I don't want us to become unattracted to each other, because we don't spend time together. I want us to do as much as we can together, at any oppotunity that comes our way. Sarah smiled. I will never become unatteacted to you! You're my sexy woman and I love you more than you'll ever know! John smiled. Stop it, you're making me blush Sarah replied, her face turning red. I love seeing you smile, it melts my heart.. I love you so much. So much, that, whatever I do, will never truly be enough to show you how much I love you. You'll always be my baby girl John smiled. Haven't heard you say that for awhile. I've missed it. Sarah smiled. Will have to try and say it more often then, won't I? John replied with a slight, mischevious wink.

Sarah smiled back at him, his gaze all warm and loving, like it used to be. She knew how much she loved him, and how much he meant to her - and he knew it. She knew he was hers and that he wasn't going anywhere. John was her hero, her knight in shining amour, her soul mate. Thier love for on an other was undeniable, there was nothing they didn't share, nothing they didn't tell each other.

Since Keira was born, they'd become so much closer and did everything together. Keira was was the rock that brought them together again, she was the glue in thier relationship. It was that little girl that made them realise how lucky they were to have found each other. Falling in love again was a great feeling. They fancied each other like the day they first met. The spark had returned in thier relationship, and they were determined to keep it that way.

***

John was due to leave for the states in the next few weeks, for working commitments. But, instead of having Sarah stay home alone, he was paying for Jazzy's ticket to fly over and stay with her for the duration of his work length in America. Sarah had no idea of this little secret, he was keeping it a surprise. It had been a good while since Sarah had seen her 'Sister' and he knew she'd be pleased to have her stay for a few weeks. Sarah and Jazzy weren't related in the blood sense, but they talked endlessly over the internet about things. Jazzy was even told about the birth of thier daughter! They were like sisters, they had a lot in common and shared a few of the same likes and dislikes. Once every month, they would talk on the phone endlessly until Jazzy had to leave for work. John spent many nights, listening to her laughing over the phone and his name being mentioned once or twice.

John had secretly been in correspondance with her, arranging tickets and flights, without Sarah suspecting a thing. For the last three weeks, they'd been 'plotting' her arrival and departure dates. How long she'd be here for - trying to fit it for when John landed back in the UK. When John arrived home, Jazzy would leave a few days later, so not to leave abruptly, before John came home. They'd get chance to see one another before he left and after he landed back on home soil. Jazzy was really excited to be visiting the UK. Her last visit was about five or six years ago, when she visited London. Jazzy was also invited to thier wedding - John had bought her ticket and paid for her accomodation already! Jazzy was unaware, until the time was to get closer, ofcourse, that John had paid for her accomodation too. She was left to thinking she had to pay her accomodation - she knew they were paying for her flight.

You know, I miss you when you're not here. I'd come if I could - you know I would. But, Keira's due her first lot of injections while you're away and they're very important. I'm not looking forward to that though, I'm not the greatest of people when it comes to needles myself, never mind seeing them doing it to someone else, especially our little girl Sarah replied from the livingroom, as John was tidying up the kitchen, ready for dinner. I know you would babe, and I wish you could too. But, like you said, Keira's health comes first. John replied. Its going to be weired, being here, alone for the first time in months. Sarah replied. Baby, you'll be fine. Besides, you won't be here on your own... John began, stopping himself and changing what he was about to say before he slipped up. ... You'll have Keira here to keep you company. John replied, bending down to pick up the tea towel that fell on the floor. I know, but its not the same. Having her here, but not you. Sarah replied picking up the sofa cushion from the floor.

Trust me, you'll be fine.. Where's Carole? John asked from the kitchen doorway. Oh, she popped out to get a few bits. She texted and said she'd be home soon. Sarah replied. Ah right, that's OK then. Was just wondering where she'd got to, that was all. John replied. What you up to in there? Sarah asked. Tidying.. The kitchen looks like bombs hit it. John replied. You, you mean? Sarah chuckled. Hey, now there was no need for that! John laughed. I've been no where near this kitchen for the last hour - it was clean before then. John replied. What you trying to say? That I've done it? Sarah replied, walking to the kitchen door. Well.... Yeah John laughed. You cheeky... Sarah replied, coming at him with the tea towel that was draped over handle of the knife draw. No need to get violent! John laughed, protecting himself with his hands. I'm not being violent.. Sarah smirked. Yeah right.. So hitting me with the tea towel isn't being violent? Alright then! John replied, with a giggle. She hit him lightly on his arm with the towel. Ow! John laughed. Don't be such a big girl! Sarah laughed, kissing him softly on the cheek.

Does this class as 'us' time? John smiled, wrapping his arms around her waist. Yep. No Keira interruptions. Sarah smiled. I could say something to that, but I won't.. John smirked. How rude! Sarah laughed, slapping his bum. Ah, you thought that, not me.. John smiled. Yeah right, pull the other one, its got bells on! Sarah replied, kissing him on the lips softly. Do you know how amazing you truly are? John smiled, wiping the the hair from her face and tucking it gently behind her ear. I'm not that special Sarah replied. To me you are. You're my soul mate, and I love you with all of my heart. John smiled. Where's all this soppy stuff come from? Haven't heard this come from you for a while. Sarah asked. I know, but I felt it needed saying.. I know I don't show you enough affection and, I know you deserve it. John replied, softly. You know.. Actions speak louder than words Sarah smiled. Now who's being rude?! John replied. No, I don't mean like that. There was no sexual innuendo in that comment, that was just your mind in the gutter. Sarah giggled. Believe me, my minds been in the gutter for months.. John winked. Why doesn't that surprise me?! Sarah laughed. Well, you know... John replied, changing the subject quickly.

John was her soul mate, and she was his. Together, they knew they could withstand any problems that were to face them. Together, they were solid, thier relationship was unbreakable. Nothing was going to come between them. Not now, not ever. Life was finally in thier favour. Everything they'd worked towards since they found out the news about little Keira was falling into place. Finally, thier relationship was where it should of been months ago. They were stronger now, than they'd ever been before. They were meant to be together. Child or no child.

What would happen if we were standing, like we are now, and your sister walked through that door? Sarah asked. Not a lot.. We're not really doing anything, inapropriate.. John replied. I suppose not, but I don't know if she'd see it like that. Sarah replied. She's not like me... John began. What do you mean by that? Sarah asked. She doesn't have a mind like mine.. Mines a little... 'Inapropriate' shall we say. John smiled. Well, I suppose that's true. Sarah smiled. Well, you didn't deny it, that's something. John laughed. Why would I deny it, I know you inside out. I know what you're like. Sarah smiled. But, I love you anyway. Sarah continued. And, I love you too John smiled, leaning in to kiss her softly, on her lips.

How cute this chapter was and made me smile the whole time reading it. Better watch out, however, when Jazzy hits the ground!

Thank you Sis and a bigger thank you for making this wonderful sequel!

-- TWO --

Jazzy stood in the airport departure lounge, awaiting her flight to the UK to be called. She was thinking about what England would be like. It'd been, roughly, five years since her last visit, and the UK would of probably changed a lot since then.. She'd never been to Cardiff before, only ever London. But, she was rather excited. She sat at a table, by a small, convinently placed coffee shop where she ordered herself a large Ice Tea, with a dash of sugar and a bit of Lemon. Her flight wasn't due for another two hours. Her businesses were being looked after by one of her friends and neighbours who lived near by, who she'd known since she moved to Vermont, many years ago. The hospital had authorosied her a few weeks holiday - with the help from John and his 'way with words'.

Jazzy knew Sarah was still unaware of what was about to unfold before her. She had no idea Jazzy was coming over to stay for a few weeks and keep her company. Jazzy was looking forward to meeting her neice, Keira. Sarah had made Jazzy her auntie. For years she'd joked that she would become an 'Auntie Jazzy' but now, that was a reality. After all, dreams can become a reality. Sarah knew how much Jazzy longed to become an Auntie. Jazzy was born as an only child, so had no siblings. Which meant, no siblings, no neices and nephews. Now she was an auntie, and she was over the moon about it. They weren't blood sisters, but were as good as.

She sat at the table in the coffee shop, sipping on her ice tea. She watched people walking to and fro past her as she sat there, wondering what the next 6 hours were going to be like. She hadn't flown for ages, but was looking forward to it. She watched the plane land on the tarmac and park up at the terminal. People were climbing off the flight. They looked like ants from where she was sitting.

***

Sarah was wandering around the house, tidying up as she went. John was upstairs, packing for his flight in a few days. Keira was on the rug in the front room, sitting in her car carrier, snuggling with her Iggle Piggle from 'In The Night Garden' under a warm, soft lilac blanket. She'd been fed and was now settling down for her 'quiet time' the time of the day where she'd play with Iggle Piggle quietly, while mummy had some time to herself, cleaning the house. Keira was a good baby, hardly ever made any noise and slept - most nights, right through till 6am.

Keira Isabelle Barrowman, born weighing 4lbs 80z, with crystal blue eyes and light brown hair, just like her father. Her smile was like the sun, warm and cozy. Her face would light up everytime little Jack walked into a room, that dog loved that little girl, and she loved him. They were always together. When she was put to bed for her naps during the day and at night, Jack would sleep by the side of her basket. Everytime she made a slight noise or movement, he'd peak over the side of the basket, as if to make sure she was OK. He was her solider, her gaurd dog, her best friend. Jack and Keira were inspeperable, just like John and Sarah had become.

***

John stood in the bedroom, the suitcase laying on the bed, wardrobe door open. He'd packed only a few things so far. Something was bothering him, something was on his mind.. He knew, deep down, leaving Sarah and little Keira would break his heart and he was now begining to worry about them - and he hadn't even packed yet! He looked over to his bedside cabinet, where, standing there was a photograph, a photo of him and Sarah, in Antigua. On the white sandy beach, under the warm hot summer sun.

This was the first 'outing' he'd make, on his own without her. Before Keira was born, they'd go almost every where together. She was, after all, not just his fiancee, but his Personal Assistant, too. The last time they'd been away together, abroad, was just before they found out about Keira. That was while they were in Antigua. He loved that woman with all of his heart and she meant everything to him. Being away from her most of all, was going to tear him apart. But, he had to do this, he knew that. If he didn't, they'd have no future.

***

Jazzy boarded her flight to the UK. For the next six hours, she had to find something to entertainer for her the duration of the flight. She sat a few rows infront of a small child, around six who was screaming, and had been since she boarded. I hope that little dang kid isn't screaming for the whole of this flight, or I'll be ripping mad. She thought to herself. Can't wait to have a natter and a catch up with my sister. She thought to herself, with a smile.

As she buckled herself into her seat, she was interrupted by a gentelmen who was claiming that she was in his seat. At which point, she showed him her ticket and he dissappeared. She sat there, in silence for a few moments, before the pilots voice interrupted her daydream. This is your captain speaking. In about 10 minutes, we'll finally be ready for take off. Please remain in your seats and ensure your seatbelts are fastened, until we reach a suitable altitude. Thank you for flying with Vermont Airlines. We hope you have a plesant flight. And it went off.

***

Need me to do anything for you? Sarah asked as she entered the bedroom, clean towels draped over her shoulder and clean washing in her hands. No, you're OK babe, I'm good. Thanks for asking though. John smiled, zipping up his suitcase. I really am going to miss you. Sarah began. Babe, trust me, you'll be fine, stop worrying! John reassured her, sitting on the bed as she put the clean washing away in the draws. I'm not really worrying, more like, knowing I'll miss you. Sarah replied. If you really are going to be that worried about me and stuff, then I won't go. At the end of the day, I don't like leaving you, knowing you're going to be worrying. John replied. No, I know you need to go, I just wish you weren't so damn far away. What happens if something happens to Keira? Sarah replied. Then call me, and I'll come home straight away, no questions asked. John replied.

Bedsides, you have Jazzy here. And, I'm sure she'll go with you to things, if you ask her nicely. John smiled. I don't want to have to drag her with me, she's here as a guest. Sarah replied. Babe, if she gets ill, she's the best person to have around, she is a paramedic, after all. She knows all about illnesses and thier signs. John smiled. Will you, please, just stop worrying, you're making me feel bad for leaving you.. John replied. I don't mean to make you feel bad, I just thought you needed to know how I am feeling. Sarah replied. What are you going for anyway? Sarah asked. Going over to do some panel shows and stuff like that. I'll only be gone a few weeks. John replied. How many of these 'panels' are there? Sarah asked. Well, I have one each day over the weekend and other times, I'll be on a Sci-Fi/Torchwood stand. The Comic Con is on for 3 days and I promised them I would be there for all of it. Then, I have to do some other stuff with Gavin. John replied.

Sometimes, I get the feeling, you're doing more than 'working'... Sarah replied, her voice trailing off.. And, what's that supposed to mean?! John asked. You know full well what I mean.. Sarah replied. Sometimes, I get the feeling you're trying to pull out all these jobs, to avoid me. And your daughter. Sarah replied, walking out of the room. That's a load of crap, and you know it! John replied. Yeah, whatever, Barrowman! You go off, enjoy your 'work' and leave me here, with Keira. I'll be here, looking after OUR daughter, while you go off, swaning around like you don't have any responsibilities! Sarah shouted, as she made her way downstairs. I know you feel tided down with me, and I'm sorry, but I thought Keira was what you wanted, what we both wanted. Now, I get the feeling you wish you'd never set eyes on me. Then, maybe you'd be a free man and date whoever the hell you wanted. Sarah replied, choking back tears as John stood at the top of the stairs. She slammed the door behind her, leaving John upstairs to think about what she'd just said.

***

Yet again, John had no idea where this sudden thought of him 'playing away' had come from.. John wasn't a cheater and he wasn't about to become one, either. Tears filled his eyes as he realised, what she'd said, was right. To her, he was avoiding her, to her, he was looking for an 'escape' - somewhere to get away from her. Of course, that wasn't true, but she didn't know that!

For the last few weeks, Sarah's emotions had been all over the place, anything could set her off. She was feeling down, unattractive and disgusting. For seven months, she'd been carrying this unborn child and it was taking unimaginable strain on her back. She'd walk around, like everything was fine, but deep down, she was in agony. That baby was putting so much weight on her joints, it was ubeleiveable and John did nothing.. Now he'd realised, just where in this relationship he'd gone wrong. And now it was time he put things right.

Sprinting down the stairs, he stood at the door as he heard crying coming from the livingroom. Opening the door slowly and peering around the door frame, there she sat, head in her hands - sobbing. It broke his heart to see her like this. Watching or hearing her cry made his heart break, thinking he'd done something wrong. Only, this time, he had. I'm sorry. He began. Why do I always think bad of you? When I know, deep down, that you've done nothing wrong.. Sarah began. I don't know, but what I do know is just how hard you've found it those last few months before Keira was born. I know now that I should of done something to help you, but I didn't John replied. What could you of done, it wasn't your fault. Sarah replied. Well, in part, it was. John replied. Well, yes, it was. But, that wasn't what I meant. Sarah replied.

Now.. Turn that frown, upside down. You know, deep down, that I love you. John smiled. I know, I'm sorry. I can be such a cow to you sometimes. I wonder how you manage to put up with me a lot of the time. Sarah replied. Because you're my soul mate, and I love the bones of you - even when you are stroppy John smiled. I just feel horrible and ugly. I know you would never cheat on me, but I can't help but worry that one day, you may decide you don't want me anymore, and leave me for someone else.. Sarah explained. Don't be silly. You're loyal, sweet, kind, caring, considerate and extremely attractive. Even now, nearly two and a half years on, I still find you sexy. John smiled. Really?! She asked. Yes, of course! You've got sexy curves - I like your curves. You look hot in a pair of jeans, even after the birth of Keira! John smiled.

***

They stood together, in Cardiff City centre. She stood infront of him, her arms inside his jacket, wrapped around his waist, looking, deeply into his eyes as he smiled lovingly at her. John stood, hands on her waist, holding her close. John and Sarah had decided to go out, taking Kiera with them, for a few hours of fresh air. Keira was sitting quietly in her buggy. Her eyes were starting to get heavy as she began to get sleepy. Do you know how hard it is, to resist the urge to kiss you? Right here, right now Sarah smiled softly. Then what's stopping you? John asked. People.. Sarah replied. What about them? Half of them don't even recognise me, just standing here. And if they did, I doubt they'd approach me, without thinking I had security nearby. John replied. That's true, I guess... She smiled.

She stood there, looking deep into his crystal blue eyes, John leaned in to kiss her. His hands now sat flat, at the base of her back. His right hand moved upwards towards the middle of her back. As she leaned in, her hands moved from his waist to his bottom. He smiled softly as he felt her hands move. He winked at her and she kissed him, softly on the lips. She wore long black, ugg boots, black bootleg jeans, fitted sequin vest top and a leather jacket. Love you He whispered. Love you too She replied. Thier lips met, she could feel his breath dance on her lips. Lips touching as they kissed again, Kiera's piercing cry broke thier embrace. Oh dear, someone's getting cranky... John replied. What's the matter, pumpkin, are you hungry? John smiled softly as he lifted her from her buggy. Oh no.. Someone's got a stinky bum. John smiled. Sarah and John walked to the nearest baby changing facility where John dissappeared with her and her changing bag.

As he disappeared out of sight, a young lady appeared.. I'm looking for Waterstones. Can you help me? The lady asked. Of course. If you go left here, walk down about half way, you'll come to a small coffee hut and its on the left, on the corner. Sarah replied. Thank you for your help dear. She smiled and walked on. Sarah sat on the bench and waited for John and Kiera to re appear from the toilets. Five minutes later, John appeared. Sorry about that, she was being a little monster and kept wrigging each time I tried to lift her bum off the changing mat. John replied, placing Kiera back in her buggy. You're a very wriggly little mite, aren't you, Kiera? John smiled softly, kissing her little forehead.

***

So, where was I? John smirked. Well, I was about to kiss you again Sarah smiled. Come here then John smiled softly, holding his arms open. She wrapped her arms around him and buried her head in his chest. His grip tighterned around her and she smiled. She was in the arms of the man she loved more than he'd ever realise. Losing him, she knew, would destroy her. She'd be lost without him. Now she had the little family she'd always wanted, with with the man she'd always dreamt of.

Many times she'd dreamt of marrying him. But, never in a million years did she ever think it would come true. She was just a fan back in those days . Now look where she was, who she was with and how they'd got together. Thank you DVD signing She whispered to herself. Did you say something? John asked. Oh nothing, just mumbling to myself. Sarah replied. You know, its a sign of madness, talking to yourself John laughed. I'm mad anyway, so what difference would it make? She laughed. Well, there is that, I suppose. John laughed. You're not supposed to agree with me. You're meant to say.. 'Aw, that's not true.' Cheeky sod! She replied, slapping his bottom softly. Erm.. Yeah, that's what I was meant to say.. John laughed. Liar! She giggled.

Do you have a sudden attraction with my bum. Only, every time I say something you don't like, you slap it. John asked. Always loved your bum babe. Always have, always will. Can't resist the urge to slap it. She winked. This conversation is going down the naughty route now. I better be careful of what I say, ot it'll make your mind go into overdrive John smiled. Aw, you spoil sport! Sarah replied. Damn, I was waiting for you to slap it.. You let me down that time. John winked. And, she slapped it. That's more like it! John smirked. You're being the naughty one. You're the one who asked for your bum to be slapped. She replied. I know, but I like it He winked. Do you realise just how really wrong that sounds? Sarah laughed. Oh well, its only you that knows I like it He winked.

***

John had to leave in a few hours to collect Jazzy from the airport. He was really enjoying the time they'd spent together in town. It'd been a while since they'd had this much fun together. The last time they did anything like this was on holiday, just before Kiera was born. As the sun disappeared behind the clouds, the wind began to pick up and it was getting a little cold. Sarah placed the rain cover down over Kiera's buggy, so to keep the cold air out and they decided to make thier way into a nearby cafe for a warm drink.

Putting Keira's buggy by the table, John pressed down on the brakes, so it couldn't roll away and pulled the chair out, so Sarah could sit down. John sat over from her at the small table by the window. He placed his coat over the back of his seat and stood up again. Just a regular Latte for me babe Sarah smiled, undoing Keira's rain cover.

John made his way over to the counter and ordered thier drinks before he was interruppted by a young lady with a child. Sorry to bother you... She began. As he turned the face her, her face dropped as she realised who was stood before her. Sorry, can I help you? John asked. Oh, its nothing. Was going to ask you to pass me some napkins, but its OK. I'll get them myself. She replied. John turned around, took a handful of napkins out of the napkin dispenser and handed them to her. Thanks She smiled and walked away. John stood there, staring over at the table where Sarah was sitting. She was unaware that he was looking at her as she was to busy putting the rain coat in the tray under the buggy. He could stand there and stare at her all day..

Loved it but found it a little confusing.

In the beginning it says:

[background=rgb(251, 253, 254)]Jazzy knew Sarah was still unaware of what was about to unfold before her. She had no idea Jazzy was coming over to stay for a few weeks and keep her company.[/background]

Then midway through:

Then towards the end:

The airport was busy, people were coming and going. Running around, panicking it seemed. Jazzy made her way through the arrivals gate to the awaiting crowds of people. Now, she was finally on UK soil - Welsh soil to be exact. She walked along the long line of people, pushing her luggage trolley along in front of her. John stood, at the end of the line, waving his arms frantically like one of those paddle guys on the runway. She smiled and made her way towards him. Ah, you made it! John smiled. Yes, finally. Been waiting five years for this moment. Its been a while since I was on UK soil. Jazzy smiled. How was your flight? John asked. Not to bad, could of been a little shorter, I guess. But, who's complaining?! Jazzy replied. You.. Joking! John giggled. That wasn't a very good joke.. I didn't laugh Jazzy replied. Aw come on, it wasn't that bad! John replied. Believe me, it was.. Jazzy laughed. Oh, you're such a spoil sport! John smiled.

Anyway, where's this 'sister' of mine? Jazzy asked. At home, looking after Keira John replied. Can't wait to see that beautiful little niece of mine. Jazzy smiled. You'll see her soon. Its only a 10 minute drive to where we live. John smiled. It was very kind of you to put me up, I really do appreciate it. But, you really didn't have to. She smiled. Nonsense, we wouldn't want it any other way John smiled. Thank you She smiled. Cars over in the car park. Would of parked outside, but they'd of had my arse for it. John replied, holding the door open. Hang on, wait here. I'll go get the car. John smiled and he sprinted off across the taxi bays and towards the car park.

***

Sarah was sitting on the sofa, Keira fast asleep in her arms. She looked so cute and peaceful. Sarah placed Keira, slowly into her carrier. As she stood up from the floor, her phone vibrated violently on the coffee table. Be home in 20mins. xx The text read. She stood in the window, looking out into the cul de sac. George was out in his front garden, washing down the flags on his driveway with the jet wash. She walked to the front door and picked up the flyer that lay on the door mat. 'Welsh Dragon Takeaway' it had written on it. It was a flyer for the local Chinese Take Away that had opened nearby.

As she wandered back into the living room, a knock came at the door. Sorry to bother you love, but I saw you standing in the window and I remembered I had to ask you something. George smiled. Have you had any run ins with that scum bag recently? George asked. No why? Sarah replied. Oh that's good. Only, I saw him in the corner shop early this morning George replied. Yeah, he works there, has been before we moved here. She smiled. Oh I see. How's Mr Andre? Seen him recently? He asked. No, I haven't seen him for months. Been texting him though, he's been really busy She replied. How's the little one? George asked. She's fine, fast asleep right now. She smiled. Good to hear. Will leave you be now. Have a few things to do, maybe I'll see you later? He asked. Yeah maybe Sarah smiled. And he walked off, down the driveway.

***

I know I've probably asked you this a million times before, but, what are you going over to the states for? Jazzy asked as they travelled along the road. A comic con, a sci fi panel and some other work related things John smiled. Busy busy for you then? She asked. Aye.. I mean, yeah.. Sorry, force of habit. John laughed. No worries, I knew what you meant. Sarah's been teaching me some British words. Like, bits and bobs.. Natter - that's my favourite one.. Jazzy smiled. I'm sure you'll learn some more while you're here. John smiled. I'm looking forward to it. Jazzy smiled. How long have you guys actually been together? She asked. Coming up to 2 and a half years. We have our ups and downs. More ups that downs nowadays. John replied. What changed? She asked. Oh, we had a bit of an argument back a few months ago, and we had a bit of a fall out. But alls good now He smiled. Oh, that's good then. She replied.

Sarah still has no idea you're in the UK. John smiled. Oh, I like a good surprise! Jazzy beamed. I just know she'll be over the moon to see you. He smiled. I me her. She replied. Just like to make a point before we get any closer. If, while you're here, you see a young man, scruffy brown hair, facial scars and a beard walking past if you're ever out front. Ignore him, take no notice of him and don't make eye contact. If he gets wind I'm not in the UK, he may kick up shit and stuff. Its Sarah's ex. If you have any problems with anyone, let George across the road know. He'll let me know. Be sure not to let Sarah know George is in contact with me, she'll start worrying.. John smiled. OK, got it. She smiled.

Is he that guy who was horrible to her? She asked. Yes, but I've sorted it now, so he shouldn't give you any problems.. Here's hoping.. John replied. He's a creep! She replied. Yeah, I know what you mean. He replied. As they turned into the cul de sac where they lived, George was out in the front. She's inside. George smiled as he slowed past with his window down. That's George. He's the man you need to see if you have any problems. John smiled, closing the window again. As they parked up the driveway, John jumped out of car and ran to the door. Wait here.. He whispered. Jazzy nodded.

***

John walked through the door and down the hallway to where Sarah was sitting at the breakfast bar. Oh, there you are Sarah replied. Come with me.. John smiled. covering her eyes. What the heck?! Sarah replied. Just come with me. Trust me.. John smiled. Where the hell are we going? Sarah replied. I can't tell you its a surprise.. John replied. John signalled to Jazzy not to speak yet.. If she spoke, she might give it away. We're stood in the hallway, but I have no idea why... Sarah replied. Jazzy was giggling under her breath at the look on John's face. Will you stop it with the running commentary! John laughed. I would, if I knew where the hell I was going.. She replied. Keira's asleep, so no funny antics of yours.. Sarah replied. John helped her step down the step and closed the front door.. Please, don't scream, people will start talking.. John laughed. John gestured Jazzy to step forward. Put your hands out. John told Sarah. Why? She asked. Just do it, woman! John laughed.

Jazzy took hold of Sarah's hands so she wouldn't fall or anything when John let go. I'm going to uncover your eyes. On the count of three, you may open them John smiled and removed his hands. Jazzy had a huge smile on her face as she waited for the three count and for Sarah to open your eyes. Please don't fall.. Jazzy whispered.. And Sarah opened her eyes. ... There was a pause for a moment as shock set in at the sight of her 'sister from across the pond' standing infront of her.. Say something then.. John smiled. I.. I don't know what to say.. I'm a little shocked.. Sarah beamed. Hi would be a good start John laughed. Jazzy burst out laughing at the sight of little Jack jumping up and down at the window, trying to get a look at what was going on. Oh yeah, that's Jack.. Or CJ as we call him John smiled. Opening the front door. What does CJ stand for? Jazzy asked. Captain Jack John smiled.

***

Later on, as the shock had wore off, Sarah was sitting with Jazzy in the kitchen when Keira started screaming.. I got it! John shouted from the living room. Cheers babe! Sarah replied. I'll let you hold Keira when she's settled. She's just woken up. Sarah replied Bless her Jazzy smiled. A few moments later, John walked into the kitchen, holding Keira in his arms. Shh.. Its OK, daddy's got you. He whispered to her as she calmed down. She's so cute! Jazzy smiled. Here, take her John smiled handing Keira to Jazzy. Jazzy sat there, looking down at Kiera as she looked up, her crystal blue eyes wide open. She's adorable! Jazzy whispered so not to startle Kiera. Who would you say she looked like. Me, or John? Sarah asked. At first glance, John. But, looking closely at her, she looks a bit like you too. Jazzy replied.

Oh, I bought her a little gift, I hope you don't mind. I'll give it to you later Jazzy smiled. You know, you didn't have to do that, but thank you. I'm sure she'll like that Sarah smiled. Jazzy moved the blanket from Kiera's mouth and her little hand gripped around her finger and a little smile washed over Kiera's face. Ha ha, she likes you. John smiled. I like her too! Jazzy smiled. I love your name, its very cute. Suits you too She whispered to Kiera as her little face smiled. Kiera Isabelle, its a lovely name, for a gorgeous little girl Jazzy smiled. A little tear caught in her throat. You all right? Sarah asked. Oh yeah. Just happy. She's beautiful! Jazzy smiled. Just like her mother. John smiled. John, stop it! Sarah replied, her face going red.

As Jazzy passed Kiera to Sarah, Harris came running around her feet. Oh hello Harris! Jazzy smiled. Harris jumped on the chair by the side of her and sniffed Kiera's face. He sneezed on Jazzy's sleeve. Oh gross! Jazzy laughed, wiping her sleeve on Harris' head. Sarah laughed as Harris jumped on Jazzy's lap and licked her face. Oh kisses, I like kisses. She smiled, wrapping her arms around Harris. Charlie stood at the door, a look of disgust on his face. You can come have cuddles too! Jazzy laughed as Charlie looked all left out. His little tail wagged and he came running to the table. John picked him up off the floor and placed him in the seat next to her. That's better, isn't it Jazzy smiled and Charlie looked at her as if he was smiling.

***

John had left for the states a few days ago and Sarah was sitting talking over a mug of coffee with Jazzy. John is very kind. Jazzy smiled. I know what you mean. I worship the ground he walks on. That man means to world to me. Sarah smiled. Do you miss him when he's away? Jazzy asked, sipping on her coffee. Very much. Even now, with you here to keep me company, I still miss him Sarah replied. It must be really hard. Being in a relationship with someone who works as much as he does. Jazzy smiled. It is hard, but I have my good days and bad days. Sarah replied. How do you do it? I mean, how do you cope when he's not around? Jazzy asked. I just have to try and find things to keep me busy. I know, if I don't stop and think about things, I won't worry about him so much. Sarah replied.

Being his Personal Assistant, sometimes makes it harder. Sarah continued. How do you mean? Jazzy asked. For instance, if I get a phone call from Gavin about John's schedule and what needs updating on his calendar, it makes me think about him, just because his name was mentioned. Sarah explained. I know that sounds really stupid, but, its true. Sarah replied. It doesn't sound stupid. I know what you mean.. It can be hard sometimes, being away from loved ones for such long periods Jazzy smiled. Does he go away for long periods often? In that, I mean. Does he go away without you often? Jazzy asked. He tries not to be. Most of the time he works away, we try and go along too Sarah smiled. John wants Keira and myself as close by as possible. He hates having to leave us. She continued. That's sweet Jazzy smiled.

Still.. It must be hard.. Jazzy replied. I get by, just about.. I just have to remember, its me and Keira he's coming home too, no one else. Sarah smiled. Yes, that sure must help. Jazzy smiled. Sometimes, I have often wondered how I managed to get him. After all, there are loads of women out there, who'd love to call him 'thiers', if you get what I mean Sarah replied. The radio was on low in the background, when 'I'm All Out Of Love' began to play:

I'm lying alone with my head on the phone

Thinking of you till it hurts

I know you hurt too but what else can we do

Tormented and torn apart

I wish I could carry your smile and my heart

For times when my life feels so low

It would make me believe what tomorrow could bring

When today doesn't really know, doesn't really know

[Chorus:]

I'm all out of love, I'm so lost without you

I know you were right believing for so long

I'm all out of love, what am I without you

I can't be too late to say that I was so wrong

As the lyrics were played, the song reminded her of him.. His version of this song on many nights would make her smile. And, sometimes, cry. He always told her that whatever song played, that he'd covered was for her. It made her feel loved and special. Right now, sadness filled her throat as she fought back the tears and tried to shake it off, but it just wouldn't go. That song meant a lot to her, she loved his version so much more than the original.

John sat in his home in Palm Springs, which over looked the city of California. He sat on the sofa, alone. For the first time in months, he was here, all by himself. No Sarah, CJ, Harris or Charlie.. No body. He felt so alone. John switched on the radio for a little company and background noise around the house. John thought he'd heard Sarah's voice coming from upstairs when he then realised, there was no one else here. He was just hearing things, it was all in his head. Again came another voice, or so he thought. Again, nothing, not a sound.. Just silence.. He stood up from the sofa, and looked out of the window. The street outside was quiet, everyone was indoors, doing thier own things.

His heart felt empty, there was something missing - someone he loved more than life itself - his soul mate. His world and home felt empty without her. Being away from her like this was ripping his heart to pieces, it was cutting him up inside. It felt like someone had torn it from his chest and was stamping on it. Tears caught in his throat, his eyes began to fill up, as the song 'You To Me Are Everything' by The Real Thing, played on the radio in the background. I miss my family John thought to himself. He picked up his phone and decided to text Sarah.

Hey baby! I know I said I'd keep contact to a minimum, but I miss you. I hope you guys are all OK. Jazzy too!
icon_e_biggrin.gif
Xx
It read. Sarah replied a few minutes later. Me and Keira are missing you too. Hope you're home real soon! Oh, we had a song play on the radio that reminded me of you.. Love you lots, handsome!
icon_e_wink.gif
Hee hee! X
She replied. I'll be home as soon as I can, I promise.
icon_e_smile.gif
X
He replied. He smiled to himself. Knowing she was OK made him feel a little better. Now he could concentrate on what he was here for.

John sat on the Torchwood stall with Eve who was here for the same reason as he was - to spread the word about Torchwood to the US audience. How's life with the newborn? She here? Eve asked. No, Sarah had to stay at home, Kiera's due her inoculations in the next few days and was unable to bring her, so they're both at home, playing with toys I should imagine. John smiled. Do you have a picture of her at all? Eve asked. Yeah, I have loads of them on my phone.. John smiled, taking it from his jean pocket. Showing her photos on his phone, it bleeped. One second, its Sarah. John replied, opening the message. In that message was a picture of Kiera on the floor on her changing mat, with Jack's head on her belly, looking at the camera. Kiera with her little friend.. Jack thinks Kiera's a good little cushion! Ha ha The caption under the picture read.

John laughed to himself, at the thought of CJ laying on Kiera. Look at this picture! John laughed, showing Eve. He's such a cheeky little chap and your daughter is beautiful, she looks so like you! Eve smiled. Thanks. A lot of people have said that, that she looks like me. John replied. Off your phone John, people are arriving.. A lady smiled who was walking past the stalls. Sorry John replied, putting his phone back in his pocket. Who's she?! John asked. No idea.. Eve replied. She seems a little.. rude! She Didn't even say please! John whispered as she came back around. Don't worry, you probably won't see her again today, it'll get busy in here, eventually. Eve replied. You ever thought of 'tying the knot'? Eve asked. As a matter of fact, yes I have John smiled. Tying the knot in a few months. He continued.

We've been sitting here, for nearly 15 minutes, and nobody has come to this stall yet Eve replied. John was in a little world of his own, thinking about his family back home and how much he missed them. Are you even listening to me, John?! Eve asked. Oh, what?! John replied, her voice breaking his daydream. I'll take that as a no then! Eve laughed. Everything OK? Only, you seem a little, away with the fairies, if you don't mind me asking Eve asked as she sipped her coffee. Oh no, far from it. I'm absolutely fine, just thinking about my little family back home, that's all. John smiled. So long as you're OK, that's all that matters Eve smiled.

You know, if you miss them that much, why not fly home? Eve asked. I can't. I have to be here, I have to make a living like everyone else. I can't go running home when I get upset about something, what's the point? John replied. Ring her then Eve replied. I can't, Mrs Sour Face might make a comment. John replied. Make up an excuse.. Say.. I don't know... Your wife is ill or something.. Eve replied. If she says anything, I'll deal with her for you. Go on, go and call her. Eve smiled. Thanks, you're a star, I'll be back as soon as I can. John smiled. John stood by the fire exit of the building and called home.. It rang for a few moments... Then Sarah answered.

Hey babe, you OK? John asked. Yeah, I'm OK thanks, everything OK? Didn't expect you to call. Not yet.. Sarah replied. What time is it there? John asked. 7pm She replied. Oh sorry! Didn't realise you'd just put pumpkin to bed. Sorry if I disturbed her. John replied. You're OK, she's out for the count, I'd come down just before you rang. Jazzy wore her out, she's been playing with her for the last hour or so. They've been playing with Iggle Piggle and Tigger. Sarah replied. Jazzy was in the kitchen, making herself a warm drink. Is Jazzy with you now? John asked. She's in the kitchen, why? Sarah asked. Tell her I said hi. John replied. I will Sarah replied. Babe.. I didn't want to tell you this, but... I miss you. John began. You getting home sick babe? Sarah asked. Something like that.. John replied. If it'll make you feel better, Kiera's having her inoculations tomorrow. Asked her to be a big brave girl for her daddy. And, when you get back, you'll have a present for her Sarah replied. Oh of course! Big brave girls get presents! John smiled to himself.

You know, I miss you too. Its not the same here without you. Sarah replied. I feel like coming home, but I know I can't, and I shouldn't. But this, at moment, is hard. Being away from you both, you especially, is really difficult. I feel like my hearts been ripped out. John replied, sadness in his voice. You know, you're welcome to call home, anytime you like. If we're not home, ring my mobile, I won't ignore your call. Sarah replied softly. I told George I would keep calls to a minimum. John replied. Who cares how many times you call? If you're upset, call home. I know I would. I still ring my mum once a week to talk with her and dad. It stops her from worrying about us. Sarah replied.

I sound pathetic, don't I.. John replied. No, of course you don't. Its normal to miss people. Sarah replied. Its just.. I've never missed someone this much. John replied. Just goes to show how right we are together Sarah replied, her voice breaking. Don't cry babe, you'll set me off John replied. I won't. I just love you so much. Sarah replied. And, I love you too John replied. Just do one thing for me before we hang up.. She began. Anything... John replied. Call me once a day, if not more, if you get upset. Can you do that? She asked. Sure, I can do that John repiled. Right, I'll let you go now. Speak to you again soon. And, remember, I love you. Sarah replied. And they hung up..

John stood by the fire exit and smiled. He felt a little happier now he'd called home and told her how he truly felt. His heart was still aching for her, but he knew she was OK, so he was happy. His soul mate was only a phone call away, and that he could phone any time he felt upset. He made his way back to the stall and sat down. Feel better now? Eve asked. Much better. John smiled.

***

Sarah sat on the sofa, house phone in her hand, looking down at the coffee table. Everything OK? Jazzy asked, walking towards her, tea in hand. Ever get the feeling you should be somewhere, but you can't? I know John's getting home sick, he told me. But, I feel like I can't do anything.. He nearly broke down in tears on the phone. I had to stay strong, but it breaks my heart to hear him cry. I don't hear or see him cry that often, but I have seen him upset. Sarah began. He'll be fine. Sure, he'll have his down moments, but I know he'll pick himself up, dust himself off and carry on. He's strong, it'll pass. He has to concentrate on what he's there for, and why he's doing it. That'll help him stay focused. Jazzy smiled.

I know you're right, I just can't help feeling like I should be with him. Sarah replied. I know, but you know, deep down, that might make him feel worse. I know that sounds harsh, and you know me, I don't mean to sound harsh, but it might upset him more and he might not be able to concentrate. Jazzy replied softly, sipping on her hot drink. I know what you mean. That's why, I told him, that, if he gets upset he can call home anytime and I'll answer. Sarah smiled. That's a good idea. That way, he'll still be able to talk to you, and it'll make him feel a little better, knowing you're there for him Jazzy replied with a smile.

Jazzy was right, Sarah would be more a hindrance than a help, if she was with him right now. Being here, looking after Kiera, the dogs - and the house - she could keep her mind occupied on that instead of worrying about him so much. She knew, deep down, that he'd be fine. But, she still thought about him and what he'd be up to. She smiled to herself at the thought of him enjoying himself at the Comic Con and different sci fi stuff. He was a Sci Fi nerd and also loved comic books. His favourite Comic hero was Captain America. He had shot glasses and things like that dotted around the house. He was such a child at heart!

That man meant everything to her. He was her best friend, hero and of course, her soul mate. There wasn't a day that went by, while he was away, that she didn't think about him. Not only did she love him, she was in love with him. Still to this day, it hadn't sank in, how truly lucky she was to have found someone as unique as him. He loved her for who she was, what she believed in and supported her in every decision she had to make. She loved the bones of him and would do anything and every thing to keep him happy. She wasn't prepared to risk doing anything to loose him. He was her world, her life, her everything. He was her knight in shining armour.
