What was the dumbest purchase that you ever made?

(something regretful you spent a lot of money on in your opinion)

I think the dumbest thing I have ever bought would have to be a gag gift for one of my friends.

My car. Actually I didn't buy it--hubby did, but it's been in the shop almost as long as it's been on the road..... Still 8 months of payments to go.

I spent $400 in an airport for glasses that plug into my iPod to make it look like a big theatre screen. Super nerdy. I love them, but I could never see wearing them anywhere but at my house.

Same here. Couldnt afford it and it got repo'ed. The 1st on the list that screwed my credit. That was when I was 18 and stupid.

We have basically bought the silly thing twice.

Got it from the original owner (supposedly) driven to church twice a week by a little old lady....etc.

within one year we replaced

alternator

starter

starter--again

brakes

water pump

and

transmission......

Games for my computer that do not even work on my computer. (GTA 4, COD WAW)

I hate when that happens. Luckily, my new laptop is up to all specs.

A full 23 volume manga series that was terrible(Bought them all at once 'cause a few friends thought it was good) It was the worst idea ever. And it cost $10*23 +tax

Ouch. I woulda just bought one at a time to be safe.

Microsoft airplane simulator--here's the problem... It wouldn't run on my computer.

Since I opened it up, I could only exchange it for another copy. Sadly, both copies failed.

I've learned this mistake already. Always check system specs before getting something. A friend of mine got the new COD for computer, and he didn't have the specs. Needless to say, I got it for $30 instead of $50.

Another dumb purchase I experienced was when I had a lot of money, so I decided to buy a nice wallet, well, time I bought the wallet I had little cash left over. See, I had a lot of cash, but I needed a wallet to put my cash in, but when I bought the wallet to put my cash in I didn't need the wallet anymore lol

That's rather ironic..

Yeah.. I was out shopping earlier today and when I was out my dad started looking at Wallets and I immediately refused to use my money to get another wallet, because I would of been in the same situation as before.

lol I've tried and epically failed before. Besides, I already have a wallet from Walmart that is rather upscale that I bought a while back for a cheap price. Good wallet though, been using it for a year. I may make one for fun though..

I did it in class back in grade 9. Was pretty fun. I don't know where it ever got to though..
