Excessive Makeup

It is a big turn off--and I don't even like girls.

So Mimi from the drew carrey show is not hot?

She's just downright scary.....

yeah I will have too agree. I don't like girls with too much makeup. I prefer the au-natural look

I agree. I think maybe some people who wear a ton of make up have low self esteem? Like, they are trying to hide their true selves? It's like a mask.

Can you tell I did psychology at school?!

Not that I am turned on by women, I find it to be a turn off. Less is more has always been my philosophy. Not only that, but I think that it ties into the idea that women really dress for other women because guys generally don't care about that sort of thing. So maybe it is their subtle way of one-upping other women. I mean, what reason is there for a woman to wear makeup to the gym, or laundromat?

You're getting a rep point from me for that comment. i am precisely the same way.

One of my husbands new friends came over last night to meet me and she had on bright blue eyeshadow, eyeliner that went 2 inches past the corners of her eyes and painted on eyebrows up WAY too high and arched on her forehead.

She's really nice, but she looked like a carnival attraction. That shit looks really bad.

Thanks for the rep.

BTW, didn't bright blue eye shadow go out in about 1979?

Huge turnoff. I've seen women who look fake, literally. It is a scary thought that they can put on so much makeup and not even look in the mirror and reflect to them self that they are smothered in makeup. I have no problem with a little makeup or a good bit if you feel you need it, but if you look like a clown and you're using a whole box of makeup a week, maybe you're putting too much on...

I know a sort of...internet celebrity. She actually looks really pretty with make-up, and not so much without. She had a blog post about it, and it was pretty interesting, about how some people said she was 'all make up.' I guess she does look sort of trashy, but it works for her, because that's the image she's got going.

But seriously, women just need to accept that they are all beautiful, perhaps not conventionally, but still beautiful, and there's no point in making themselves suffer in the name of looking like EVERY OTHER COMMON WHORE AND THEIR MOTHER. For practical reasons, too much make up does not work out.

It makes your face look ugly, oily, and greasy. You'll wonder why you have pimples. I don't even wear foundation. It feels like mud or dust (powder). The most I'd wear is lipstick (pink) and lipgloss. I might curl my eyelashes and that's that. I only do that on special occasions though. I just don't see the point of putting on makeup everyday. If it makes you feel pretty then good for you. It makes me feel uncomfortable. But really, gals should stop putting on pounds of makeup.

I had( not hate, lol! even though she was kinduvabeeotch) a 3rd grade teacher who used to wear TONS of makeup. She looked like Krusty the Klown everyday. Light blue eyeshadow, thick mascara, firetruck red lipstick, and drawn-on eyebrows. She even had lipstick on her teeth on more than one occasion.

The reason why I say it looks whorish, not because I am some misogynist little fiend, it's because this is what ACTUAL PROSTITUTES look like on the streets. As pretty as they might be, a lot of them wear tons of makeup. It looks sloppy , too.

Sometimes bright is not right, and sometimes less is more.

I totally agree.

I always love how I read the majority of threads and get to be the person who has the opinion that opposes everyone else's. Blech. Oh well.

I'd have to disagree with everyone's posts on here. You guys don't hate how people look like with a lot of make-up. You just hate people who don't know how to put on make-up at all.

Bright blue eyeshadow? Drawn on eyebrows?

Yea, those are the kinds of things people do that don't know how to put on make-up.

I remember and I will always keep this in mind forever how Cosmopolitan published an article (I believe it was last year) where they polled a bunch of men and showed them three pictures. None of the men knew it, but all three pictures were of the same girl. In the first picture, she had no make-up on. In the second picture, she had only a little. In the third picture, she had everything on her face, but it was all make-up that was made to look natural. Over 90% of guys chose the girl who had the most make-up on her face as the prettiest looking of the three.

All those celebrity girls that men rant and rave about how beautiful they are (such as Jessica Alba, for instance), those pictures and movies you see of her, well, she's wearing more make-up on her face than any girl you're ever going to meet in real life is. You have to to be on television and movies. The make-up they use on you is extremely heavy.

I'm bad at wearing make-up (meaning, I never put it on because I'm too lazy), so I'm not trying to defend myself here, but this is why I want to wear it more often and get better at putting it on. Because it's how you wear it that makes you look good and I just don't look as good without it. Plain and simple.

This topic reminds me of a program my sister watches.

Warning: Presenter Jenny Frost is very hot!
