Are you someone like me who loves the RPG genre of games? Which is your favorite RPG video game and why? What are some features that really makes you fall in love with RPG games?

Personally, I'm a huge fan of RPG games. My love for this genre began while playing GTA Vice City in my childhood days. I was so amazed by everything the game had to offer. I could freely roam anywhere and do whatever I feel like, go anywhere I want to, drive anything I want, play as a taxi driver etc etc. From that time onwards I fell in love with the genre. After that I played all the GTA games (excited for GTA VI so much), Assassin's Creed games, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (Best RPG ever), Sleeping Dogs, Watch Dogs etc. My all time favorite has to be GTA V as of now. RPGs giving a virtual real-life experience is what attracts me the most towards them.

I'm all over the place with RPGs, but some of my favourites are the Final Fantasy series and the Dragon Quest series, both because they're good series with great games in them, and because they are legitimately fun to play (and I will admit to being an Akira Toriyama fan, so his character art in the DQ series is a big bonus :D)

RPGs would be my favourite genre so there have been quite a few which I have really loved. I really loved the sense of exploration in Morrowind, even going back to it last year to play it a bit I still love the world. Around the same time I also really loved Knights of the Old Republic. I really enjoyed Final Fantasy IV and VII. VII was the first Final Fantasy game I played and I got sucked into it and IV has been my favourite for quite a while. Tales of Xillia was amazing because of the anime style cutscenes, the characters amused me and I enjoyed the world. The Witcher 3 was incredible too.

But because of the way it managed to combine my love of Studio Ghibli films with RPGs, my favourite would probably be Ni No Kuni. The visual style of that game owing to the work done by the animators from Studio Ghibli was amazing. I felt so much excitement whenever I went to a new area. It really felt like a world from the Studio Ghibli universe. So much pure joy from that game.:wub:

Are we talking about RPGs as in Fallout or JRPGs? I've played some RPGs like Dragon Age and Fallout. Not really my bread and butter but entertaining nonetheless. I'm really into JRPGs. Out of those, my favorite would be this ps1 title called Xenogears. I quite enjoy have a good story with a couple of plot twists thrown in a long with likable characters. Xenogears fulfilled that so yeah, it's my favorite.

Oh I totally forgot about Bioware, LOVE Bioware RPGs, so well made!
Yes! Especially early 2000s Bioware. One day I will even finish Jade Empire. Have to start again though as I have no idea what happened to my save file. 😬😬
My top two favorite RPG games are Fallout 4 and Skyrim :D

Skyrim isn't my favourite Elder Scrolls, but I still enjoyed it a lot and spent a lot of time playing it. Didn't enjoy Fallout 4 as much, but it is a game I want to go back to and replay at some point. Still need to do the DLC and there is lots of side content I didn't do.

I would personally include them as RPGs. I had forgotten about Dragon Age, I liked them with Origins being my favourite of the series. Hopefully Xenogears makes it on the PlayStation classics library as I would like to try that.

Oh man my character in Origins got with Alistair first then I had them romance and ahem have relations with Zevran. Alistair of course was not pleased about that lol.

Xenogears is awesome! Fingers crossed.

Final Fantasy 7.
I think I sometimes underestimate how much I enjoy that game. Haha even hearing some of the music from it can get me excited. Absolutely loved it when I played it back on the original Playstation and it changed what my favourite game genre was essentially by itself.

Ah nice, I don't think I romanced anyone in that game. But I did end it on really good terms with Alistair. Hahaha I can't imagine he would have been. I do remember I was too gullible with Zevran though.

I will definitely give it a go then if it does come through.
i would say the witcher 3 wild hunt

The storyline and character interactions in that game were so engaging. I am still amazed at how incredible the stories were for side quests in that game.

I know it's considered over rated alot nowadays but Final Fantasy 7 is still my all time favorite RPG game. So many ways to beat it, the story is great, the emotions you feel are all over, and nostalgia is big too can't lie lol.
