Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is a MMORPG and features a persistent world in which players can interact with each other and the environment. Players create and customize their characters for use in the game, including name, race, gender, facial features, and starting class. Unlike in the original release, players may only choose to be a Disciple of War or Magic as a starting class—Disciples of the Hand and Land are initially unavailable. Players must also select a game world for characters to exist on. While servers are not explicitly delineated by language, data centers have been placed in the supported regions (i.e., North America, Europe, Japan) to improve the communication latency between the server and the client computer and players are recommended to choose a server in their region. Regardless of server or language, the game features a large library of automatically translated game terms and general phrases which allow players who speak different languages to communicate.

I am on the Famfrit server.  Just got my Chocabo, called her Arnfríðr , Arn means Eagle - closest I could get bird wise, and Friðr means companion, protector, friendship.

Anyone else play?

I have not played it. I'm holding out another 35 years for FF XV's potential release date.

I do, I'm on cerberus. Got a healer to lvl 50 and now getting my first dps leveled up.

Pretty awesome game if you find the right free company.

Me and my friends play together usually.
My archer is at lvl 28. I'm also a Miner, Carpenter and just started fishing.

Yeah, at lvl 50 there's a lot of 8 man content though so finding a good fc rly helps. A lot of pugs get impatient or are simply terrible.

I played this a long time ago on the PS3. But quit playing because of the server fee. I prefer free 2 play. Too bad this wasn't.

Dunno, f2p always ends up being p2w... Not that I'm necessarily pro traditional subscriptions but at least it's your time investment and skill that get you there, not readying your credit card.

I'm now lvl 30 archer. Got my chocobo to fight along side me, and now I'm lvl 13 in Pugilist. Started fishing, weaving, cooking, botanist too :p So much to do!

I have it patching presently. Slowly, too. It won't even go above 800kb/sec, which is annoying considering it's a 10GB patch >_> So I'm sating myself by looking at the classes to pick what I want.

Are you playing this on console or PC?

What class did you eventually pick as a starter?

I now play on PS4, started the demo on PC. Then bought the game on PS3 and upgraded it to PS4, cheaper than buying the PS4 version.

My download rate is mega slow. I hate it when I have to download patches. In fact the whole game took me 3 and a half days to download.

I wound up becoming a Miqo'te lancer. Level 8 thus far, though I already feel undergeared. I waltzed my way into a high-level FATE (there were a bunch of level 30+ enemies >_>) and ran away.

The game took about six hours for me. Then another 8-9 to patch up to the most recent version. >_>

I'm getting Elder Scrolls Online when it comes to PS4. I hope the downloads and updates are nothing like this.

If you buy a boxed version it should be OK. If you don't... Well then you're downloading a full game with over a year worth of updates. That'll be awhile.

My FF download took about 7-8 hours since I bought it online.

As a DPS class you'll have problems with higher level fates quite quickly. That being said, even a tank wouldn't go into a lvl 30 fate as a lvl 8. xD Gridania is weird though, you'll have lvl 1 to lvl 30+ ranges on the same map. You wanna stay out of the high level areas.

I suggest starting to level a healer chocobo once you get the chance (lvl 30 I think).

Btw, what server you on?

I finished it a while back. Now I'm just waiting until the 23rd for Heavensward to come out. I've got game time for 2 months I'm going to activate, but that's not until the end of June.
