This hilltop village in Tuscany, Italy, has been deserted for over 60 years due to overactive seismic activity .
The result is well preserved labyrinth of overgrown houses, streets fit for a whole host of ghosts.
Complete with a now derelict castle, Balestrino dates back to the 11th century when the town used to be owned by the Benedictine abbey of San Pietro dei Monti.
The Daily Mail reported that multiple earthquakes rocked the area including an 1887 ‘quake which reach 6.7 on the Richter scale.
There had been 800 inhabitants but many left in the late 19th century and a new town with the same name was set up a mile away in 1953.
