Forumotion is very known hosting which offers different versions of software, such as: phpbb2, phpbb3, invision, punbb, modernBB, awesomeBB. I tried out all of them but if you want responsive design, you should aim for awesomeBB however the customization level is greatly reduced due to materialistic icons being used.

I know many people using it and they are happy with it, they have no complains for what they need and to be fair, if you are really good at frontend development, you can make some badass designs. There is only one, but great flaw with them. You can't get database in case you wish to transfer all data you have so far. You are stuck with them for good.

Anyone tried it before?

No, I haven't tried these new two software versions: modernBB & awesomeBB. My favorite was punBB back in the old days but as of now I am using PhpBB3

I used Forumotion for my very first forum. You can get some awesome themes, but it does suck that you're stuck on their platform and you can't get a database backup of your forum. I used invision on my first forum, later on I made a Mega Man forum on the platform and used phpBB 3.

Don't use it anymore and I don't sign up to forums who use it. At least put in some effort into your forum xD
