One of my friends lost her long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer in the wee hours yesterday morning. Sunday I will be attending her funeral service.

When is the last time you attended a funeral?

Was it for a friend or family member?

It was either my stepdad's father or a friend of someone in the family, both had cancer.
Jim's wa very tradition and small, family funeral.
Cressada's was massive, jolly songs and many speakers - she was a sponser at AA and the first contact for a particular alcoholic in the family.

I went to my uncles funeral about 3 weeks ago. I miss him. He was only 53!

Sorry for your loss Jazz

I went to my classmate's father's funeral like 6 months ago.
I am sorry for your loss Jazzy.

Thank you Nebulous, Bea Sunny and DrLeftover.

My friend was only 25 years old and leaves behind her husband and their beautiful little girl who just turned 18 months old.

Aww, thats very young!

Sorry to hear about that. :(

I last attended a funeral 2 years ago I think it was.

And it was for family.

Some months back I attended my grandfather's funeral.

I don't much care for funerals. I'm not an emotional person when it comes to them, so I end up just feeling awkward sitting in a room full of crying people, while I'm just looking at the decor.

I don't attend funerals because I am against them.

The last memory of someone in a jar or a box isn't a good last memory.

I have it in my will that I will have no funeral, made a lot of kin folk angry at me, but I could care less lol

That is a strange way to think, but okay...

So... what'll happen to your body?

True. It's also a way for some people to find closure though. Or at least company.
