Okay, I've had dark circles under my eyes for a long time now and I can't seem to get rid of them. It's known that they're caused by lack of sleep and that's not right, as I've always slept well during the nights. I tried to get rid of them by sleeping for longer hours and using this roll-on that hides dark circles but none of these helped.

So... can anyone help me out, or are these the only ways to treat them? I'm getting sick of seeing shades of purple under my eyes everytime I look in the mirror

Honestly, most of the times it's genetic and has nothing to do with lack of sleep. In that case only surgery helps to get rid of them. If none of your close family members have it as well, the best thing to do is getting a more balanced diet and drinking a lot of water. That's supposed to help. If all else fails you could just camouflage them with cosmetic products.

I have the same problem. Now I found this for you... haven't tried it so I'm not sure if it works or not but you can check it out if you want:

I never knew it's genetic and I see that my mum doesn't have dark circles under her eyes, but I'm not sure if my brother has them and my other family members too. Also, I never knew you can go under surgery to get rid of them but... what kind of surgery would it be? Laser?

And Kahnai, I've watched these videos you've provided and I'm going to keep a note of them.

It's plastic surgery, what they do is get rid of some fat that causes it. Though if your family members don't have it, it probably has a different cause and a healthy lifestyle is the best solution.

Well if you try it let me know if it works. I'd like to get rid of mine. Mine are genetic. My Mom has them too...

Have you ever considered seeing a dermatologist?

I have the same problem too, but thats because I work 2 jobs and only get like 4 or 5 hours of sleep a night usually. I'd like to get rid of them cuz I think it's ugly.

I read somewhere that Vitamin E oil can get rid of it.

I bought some today while I was shopping so I'll see if it works. I am sick of looking like a raccoon.

That seems a better idea to get rid of them, as the method Kahnai provided with seems a bit complicated and that I don't have tumeric powder.

Apply an eye cream containing vitamin K and retinol. Dark circles may be caused by a deficiency of vitamin K. Regardless of the cause, however, skin creams containing these two ingredients reduce puffiness and discoloration significantly in many people. Long-term daily use seems to have the greatest effect.

Have you ever considered seeking professional advice from a dermatologist?

No I haven't. Do you think I should?

Many things can cause a person to have dark circles under their eyes. To find the cure, you need to first find out what's causing this. A dermatologist can find out the cause and help you get rid of them. You can get a hundred different home remedies from other people but truly, I would seek professional advice.

Vitamin K is a blood thinner I believe.
