Getting the urge to run a forum again, but don't really want

Hey everyone, I am seriously getting the urge to start a forum again, but at the same time I don't really want to, because I know once I get everything set up, I'm only going to get the urge to close it two weeks to a month later. What's your guys' advice about this? Or should I perhaps get someone to run one with me? What are your guys' thoughts on this.



I was also thinking, too, if I do decide to own a forum, I would feel loads better if I wasn't the actual founder. I know this doesn't make sense, but just knowing that someone can actually help me make the forum a success... I hope you guys know what I mean.

Well, that's just it, I don't want to run a forum all by myself, I want to either help someone run one, or if I must do it on my own, I would like to have someone help me with it, and have them as co-founder or something.

That's what I've done in the past. I've never tried to hire someone who is just gonna be lazy and not do anything at all, even post. Although I did make that mistake one other time. I hired someone and all he did was lurk. Didn't help me start topics or anything, which left me doing most of the work on my own, and that's not what I want.

You can't run a forum by yourself, you're gonna need multiple people to be occasionally checking the forum for anyone that has social problems and is posting crap in the forum, or something like that. And plus if you know he's gonna be lazy and not gonna do anything, why did you hire him in the first place?

I didn't know he was going to be lazy. That's the only thing. It's just that his application looked good and well, I'm kind of at a loss for words right now.

Well, happily enough, I have reopened Marie 1988, as it would be stupid and pointless to start a whole new forum on a whole different host. The only problem is, it's on Zetaboards, unless you know how to use that software?

You know, I could use some help. Would you rather be a co-administrator or a moderator? I think I'd be willing to try you out, and it'd be a great relief if I could have some help with like editing skins, making banners to fit those skins, that kind of thing...

That'd be a big relief on my part. I'm tired of opening and closing the forum and having people mad at me because of it. I'd really like to have a successful forum, and I now realize that the only way to do this is to have staff members behind me. So that'd be great if you could help. If you're not a member, could you sign up and then I can change your permissions and stuff like that?
