I need a place to host my website and/or forum.

Looking for relatively cheap or free hosting.

They must have excellent support as well.

Thanks.

Personally, I recommend LunarPages. I have nothing but praise for them and their support really is excellent. I have been using LP for the past 3 years in various forms and have always found them to be reliable.

I use their basic hosting plan, but depending on what you're planning, they have other plans available.

Personally, I don't really like free hosting, nor the problems that are associated with it.

Free hosting as in, the ones with no ads and etc...

I will be sure to check LP out though.

I had a bad experience with Lunar Pages. Any bit of activity on my forums and I would get a threatening email saying to cut down resource usage or my account would be suspended.

I use Hawk Host and they've been great.

I just don't like free hosting. It's far too limited as far as I'm concerned and it's not too reliable either IMHO.

Then there is the problem that if and when you decide you need paid hosting, you have to go through all the damn trouble of transferring stuff over, which can turn out to be a nightmare and quite expensive.

For a free host i recommend x10hosting or SiteFrost, both are the best free hosts available at the moment.

My favorite host is 110mb.com. They're free, but they're very good. Also, last time I checked any upgrades you needed only cost a one time fee. I think it' like a fee of $70 to unlock everything permanently, but their free hosting is excellent. I've used them before for a couple of years back in the day when I ran my Pokemon site.
