For me personally, I get a lot of recommendations from friends and use the Discover Weekly playlist every week in Spotify which has been a big help in sending me stuff I'm interested in, I find a lot of new artists that way.

What about you, how do you discover new music? Or are you content with the stuff you already listen to?

Spotify suggestions. I follow a bunch of artists so if they drop something new I'll see it in my alerts.

Also my partner is really into music and makes playlists for me often.

Television commercials, YouTube, games, movies. Sometimes I will hear music on a commercial, hear a couple of the lyrics, try to search for the song and find something else completely but what I find ends up being great so win win.

When I lived in Brooklyn I would know that Spring or Summer was on its way when I would hear someone blasting Reggaeton (usually Don Omar or Daddy Yankee) from their car when waiting for the light at the corner to change.. if I liked what I heard then I'd fire up Shazam..

So.. Shazam.. basically.. lol

I don't. I avoid new music as the music scene has been rubbish for the last 30 years. The only new music I will seek is music from my longterm favourites such as Tomas Ledin.

Sometimes i search just by genre or by country... but also as a ESC fan always easy to see somone mention a new song or artist ...

If you like Eurovision, Sandy, then you'll know who my avatar is.

Is youtube good at suggesting things you might like?

I use youtube music and I'm always in the loop on the new music scene especially for the bands and artists I sub to, it's pretty spot on for recommendations and the radio is a genius feature too

I used to rely on Discover Weekly playlist but overtime they just got worse for some reason. These days I use online radio shows to discover new music

I am a member on a fansite for a rock singer I like and pick up a lot of ideas from there since pretty much everyone on there is a music fan of some shape and size. Same with music threads on other forums I am on. YouTube and Amazon Music recommendations, of course, since those draw on what I have listened to before. And being a recent fan of a genre I didn't used to listen to (metal), there's just tons of artists I am finding as I learn more about that genre.

Some time ago I found a great tool for discovering music, chosic.com so now it's my primary way of searching for new artists, when I feel an urge to discover something new.
Sometimes I also check Spotify/YT recommendations or check out recommendation subs on reddit. For Korean music I just follow K-Ville YT channel.
And I just joined a discord server for sharing music, I added link in 'Promotion Directory' section.

I use Spotify smart shuffle, that or I'll type in a genre or mood of music I want to listen to and listen to what ever song pops on.

I usually discover new music on Tiktok or via Spotify’s suggestions. I also find new music on Soundcloud and Youtube. I’m a huge fan of music, so I’m always looking for new tunes to listen to.
