To the forum owners, what makes you want to own a forum?

To have a place of your own, managing a community to your liking.

Technically two, but they are built as partner sites and that helps keep the dev work down as most things are simply mirrored on the backend.

I currently don't own any forums. I owned about 5 at my peak in 2002-2009 and have mod / admin up to 15 at a time during that time period.

Wow, you're great, I never own a forum. I just join a forum to enjoy, explore and experience with different nationalities.

I started posting on forums in 2014. IN 2015, I joined paid-to-post forums. Between 2016 and 2018, I was making over $180 just by posting on forums. I started creating forums because I thought I would earn better from my forum instead from posting on forums. But it is far from becoming a reality.

I currently run 5 forums. I'm pretty much stopped at 5. They include all my favorite hobbies and interests so I'm content with them

One is growing pretty well, the other 4 are new and just getting started in their niche worlds.

Aside from forum promotion features on forums like this and others, I really don't promote them a lot.

I might start buying advertisements on other forums.

I might spend a little on social media ads as well.

It works when I advertise my social pages.

But I really fine-tune the ad.

I think it will be harder for an external source.

Probably hard to convert social media users into forum users because they are already comfortable on that platform.

You're right.

You have to offer something. You have to use the right copy in your ad. You have to have the right CTA.

You have to "sell your forum" like people "sell their products".
