The only real host I've tried was 2 Host U (now merged with Pluto Host). As for free hosts:



1. Forumotion

2. ProPHPBB

3. MyBB New

4. SMF For Free

5. back to ProPHPBB



So yeah, I've tried quite a few of them. I am on SMF For Free currently and despite the ads, I like it. I had to ban my first member today and I got to admit the banning feature on SMF is really easy to use. Just a few clicks and voila, the member is banned! So yeah, I've been on quite a few hosts, I don't even know why I've tried naming them lol.

Thats not a real host, thats just some kid with a vps plan who wants to sell space on his hosting account.

Anyways free hosts, Ive used freeforums.org (where FA started) & invisionfree.com (where the island started). I'd say invisionfree.com was more reliable but I had to restart my forum when it was time to move to paid hosting because you cant get backup. You can on freeforums.org.



Paid, Ive been on lunarpages, cirtex, and hawk host.

Hawk Host has been the best so far. Cirtex and lunarpages were horrible!

Well, since i don't use free based forum hosts i have been on a few paid hosts, trying to find out which is the best, Santrex (Horrible), Hostgator (Great but expensive), HawkHost (cheap, pretty slow at times), Ipage (awesome, and very fast) I am currently with iPage, defiantly worth $45 a year.

I've used a couple of free forum host. i could only remember one though , forumer.com.

I'm currently on paid hosting , hostgator and that is the only host i've used since.

I've only used free...basically Invisionfree and ZetaBoards. I love Invisionfree, ZB sucks.

I never know what people mean by this question. Do you mean the hosting site? If so I have used 2 Host U and now I use Bittraffic.



Or do you mean the type of forum? If so I have used: Proboards, Invisionfree, Phpbbs, and now SMF

InvisionFree, then upgraded to Zetaboards, and now left to join VBulletin.

Never used a free host. We've been on godaddy hosting (sucked big time) then shifted to MediaTemples (gs) hosting - best move we've ever made and have never looked back.

I've never used a free host. I have a friend/admin on my site who bought a domain and lets me use it for free.

InvisionFree, ZetaBoards, vBulletin, phpBB, Invision Power Board. I don't think I've ever had a community on anything else. The IPB license was conditional use with a friend, and the vBulletin license was temporary. So, I'm not sure what I will be using to start my next forum. I really like vBulletin and now IPB 3.0, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to afford it.

i'm a invisionfree/zetaboards kind of person. i in fact hate phpbb, and i think proboards is not as good as invisonfree/zetaboards.
