Idea for a story

I recently had an idea for a story that I thought of a night ago at work.

When *insert name's* controlling girlfriend breaks up with him a week into Summer Vacation to teach him a lesson. He realizes he's been given a unique opportunity to finally have some fun of his own. And resolves to have one wild Summer. A Summer that will ultimately reveal a few things that will open his eyes to some well hidden truths. And along the way, gain the confidence needed for when he knows his controlling ex will eventually come back into his life to try and enforce her will on him.

Whatcha think? I'm somewhat inspired by a sub plot in the film 'The Best Man.' As a friend of the best man has a very controlling girlfriend.
