In-N-Out or Shake Shack?

Regional food debates aren't just limited to what to call something or how to pronounce it. It's also about cheeseburgers. While many locals are loyal to their regional chains, the two biggest regional titans are In-N-Out and Shake Shack. While both have expanded, In-N-Out spread from the West Coast over to Texas, and Shake Shack began on the East Coast. Both spots offer budget-friendly fast food-style burgers with special sauces, fries and milkshakes, and both have cult followings. Why can't these burger chains get along? And more importantly, why can't In-N-Out go national?

I've never been to In-N-Out. I have been to Shake Shack. I can say I rather spend my money elsewhere.

I used to live down the street from one. Now I have to drive a couple miles.

I haven't had a chance to try Shake Shack yet, but there's 2 within a 15 mile vicinity from me. I do enjoy a good In n Out burger, though. I'll get back to this thread when I actually go to SS.

Do you have White Castle? I've always wanted to try that place.

Shake Shack is good, its expensive though. They're trying to be fancy fast food.

Oregon already has that with Burgerville. For just two meals, you're looking at high $20s-30s. It's ridiculous!

Hahaha, maybe it's worth one try, but I might as well go to a sit down restaurant and be served for that price.
