Do you think racism a "disease" (or a form of mental illness)?

Why or why not?

I don't think its a disease but a mind-set brought about by how they were raised and the environment they live in. What a lot of people seem to miss is that racism can go both ways. Black people can be racist towards white people and white people can be racist towards black people. The media in the US has made it seem that all white people do it hate on black people and try and kill them. It is true that there are some true racists but not every single white person is out to get every single black person.

All this talk about black people being more likely to be shot or arrested by the police; that's simply not true. The simple fact is if you run from the cops you are likely to be shot. If a white person runs from the cops, they'll shoot them too. If you take a look at the arrest records of the people on the news in the various "hate-crime" cop shootings, you will see that the people shot/arrested have prior arrests and therefore are more likely to run from the cops.

I hear black people all the time in bars, "White people are so stupid." and our society doesn't seem to think this is a problem. But if a white person was to ever say "Black people are stupid" there would be some major shit happening in the news about it, they would probably be arrested for one thing or another. What I mean is, shit would hit the fan.

No. Its a narrow minded belief and a form of bigotry. It also makes a racist look stupid as well as ignorant. Simple as that. Not a disease.
