Are you judgmental of staff on forums? Perhaps if they didn't handle a situation the same way you would, do you consider them to be a bad staff member?

I try to stay open minded and not form opinions on what people post as they maybe different in real life.

I try not to judge people based on what they post. People can say some weird things when in a foul mood (or if they are intoxicated. Lol).. If Ive interacted with the person for several months or longer then I can get a general judgment of how the person is. Even then I can still be mistaken as they may have a total different personality offline.

But more to the point...



In a forum, unless you know the person in the real world, or have 'known them online' for some time, all you've got is the words they post, both the language itself and their style of usage, or mis-usage as the case may be, to form an opinion of them, their personality, level of education and intelligence, and even whether or not they actually are what they claim to be (as far as age, sex, religion, political leanings, etc).



As to whether you 'judge' them based on that information, that's up to you. An opinion is not necessarily a judgment.

I try not to be judgmental on my forum either. Of course, if I find someone's being a tad suspicious, then I'll bring it up in the staff lounge so the staff and I know to keep a sharp eye on the person, but thankfully we don't have incidents like that coming up too often, so I try not to be judgmental towards anyone. I also try not to hold grudges against anybody either. If a person has been banned for a wrong-doing, no matter how severe, I just try to forget the ordeal and move on. No point in bringing up a month-old incident, that's for sure.

Honestly I don't, how some acts via post is totally different to how they'd act in real life, you really think the spammers would go around spamming in real life? I don't think so.

That's actually a very good point, Nathan. I never thought of it that way before.

No, I don't judge people on forums. All you know about them is that they can type, and with that being said, I post in the moment, I don't look back and form an opinion on them and stick with it.

Sure. Well it's either they are an idiot.. or an immature person who cannot grow up.

Everyone is judgmental in one way or another regardless of what is said or what is done. It's something given to life. Some use it to their full advantage and some don't give a rat's butt about it. But i do believe everyone is judgmental.

My same reply goes for both members and staffs. They are all people. And sometimes what they say makes them seem immature or an idiot. I don't believe that they are fully idiots or immature but what they say makes them sound like they are.

Why word things like this? This isn't a question, if one were to say that they are they would be blasted about it.



I am not one of those people because I don't really take things extremely serious on forums, although, there was a time where I once did, now I am pretty laidback and just sit and view things as they unfold.
