Marriage is a double edge sword. It can either be the happiest time of your lives, or the worst. Have you ever been married, or are you currently? If so, how did/is it going for you? If you haven't been married previously, would you like to be at some point?

I was married once, and I had told myself it would be only once that it would ever happen. What I didn't count on, however, was the unexpected which left me single. Nowadays, marriage just isn't appealing to me.

The answer is no for the first two, but I might do that at 28. As for children, one is enough though.

10 years of marriage is coming around the corner for me and my only time I have been married. Absolute best years of my life with a incredible women.

She is talking about renewing our vows in Ecuador next year for the 10th anniversary. I loved marrying her but did not enjoy the whole wedding day thing. To me it was no fun with a annoying photographer at every turn. I hated being the center of attention surrounded by people. Couldnt enjoy the food we spent a fortune on for 5 minutes. I dont drink much so couldnt numb myself for all the dancing I cant stand. And being married to a Latin family there will be dancing! Worried the whole night my mother would not start a scene with the ex my dad. And there is that one person in your family you know who is going to drink to much and make a scene of some kind.

And you know what even though im dreading it if it comes to be I dont even give it a second thought about doing it all over again. I look at it as payment for a better women then I deserve.

I've been married for a total of 28 years.

18 the first time until my first wife died of cancer.

And with my second, our tenth anniversary is in a few days.

Given the choice, yes, I would rather be married than single.

Im a atheist so for me its not about religion. For me its about a promise for someone you love.

It is a hassle but for the right women it is very much worth it. You get reminded that it is worth it when you wake up from surgery like I did Saturday (a minor one) and the first person you see is the one who loves you and is worried and ready to do everything possible to make it easier for you.

True divorces are expensive but it is worth the gamble.

I guess you might not need that. But most women like having a commitment a contract and a promise that she is the one and only one you will be with. Plus so many women dream of the big weddings. How could you deny her that?

Cultures differ, over here more and more people don't get married, so there's really no reason to speculate over what my future girlfriend may or may not want. Also, that's a promise I could probably never keep.

Well I'm no fortune teller... but considering so many people divorce and find love again makes me think a person can have more than one meaningful relationship in their lifetime without their life being defined as "sad and alone" or "hopping from woman to woman".
