must-have qualities in a best friend?

Independently Wealthy and willing to share often and liberally ... ... ,,, well, would be nice.

True story time.
Years ago I worked with a guy who was astonished that I didn't want to be his "new best friend" because he had a large cabin-cruiser style boat at a marina on one of the bays off of the Atlantic, and he would take several guys and go out fishing. They caught sharks, and marlin and all that.
It was an older boat that had been in his family for years. But it was in excellent shape, I saw it a couple of times and it was an impressive vessel in the (I'm trying to remember something from twenty odd years ago here) about forty foot range. With a good sized main cabin and bunks below, a working full head and shower, flying bridge, outriggers and so on.
I told him that I didn't enjoy groups of people, I didn't like fishing off of boats, and I had no desire to spend a day at sea watching, and listening to, others drink a bunch of beer, and tell lies.
He appreciated my honesty and we spent several years working together in an excellent relationship. I was the only one in the place that would tell him an honest objective opinion of something he was doing on a project because I wasn't worried about not being invited out on the next trip off shore.

- Is NOT an anxious / nervous wreck
- Is NOT a flake, always late or doesn't show up
- Is NOT a liar and cheat
Those qualities seem to annoy me the most so don't be the things above and we can be besties
