MAYBE a death sentence would have been a little more of a deterrent for copy-cat or future school shooters.?
Either way, I'm sure glad that I did not have to 'officially' decide.

The parents are right, this sends a bad message. I would have voted yes for capital punishment just because that message would cut down on those who are willing to do future shootings.

I hate to side with the death penalty, because it rarely, if ever, is warranted, but...this is one of those times, IMO. Mass murder deserves the death penalty.

I honestly think inmates such as Nikolas Cruze should be used as guinea pigs for drugs and products rather than testing on animals... I know that doesn't really answer the question but if they aren't going to give him the death penalty, then surely they could do some testing on him since he's just going to rot in jail anyways...

Not a bad idea, honestly, though that obviously runs the risk of falling under "cruel and unusual" punishment. It would be a good use for him, though.

Like @passenger said, its a good deterrent for the next school shooter, knowing they'll be killed for doing such a horrible thing. Instead this shows some psychos out there thinks they can go on a rampage and then get rewarded with a roof over their head and 3 square meals a day for the rest of their life.

Lmao what? Have you never heard of "murder-suicide"? It's a common phenomenon which becomes MUCH more common if you allow the death penalty.

Nah think of it this way, many people that go on such rampages usually kill themselves too, so if it's a /guaranteed/ outcome, they'll be more incentivized to perform it.
