I'd be here all day with reasons/evidence why I support Kamala Harris....

This pretty much sums up those thoughts in this part below...
In recent days, the Republican nominee for president of the United States has driven around in circles in a garbage truck, pretended to work at McDonald’s and presided over a rally in which Puerto Rico was called a floating island of garbage.

Outrageous, of course – but then it got worse. On Thursday, talking on stage with Tucker Carlson in Arizona, Donald Trump went after the former Republican congresswoman Liz Cheney, who opposes his re-election and has campaigned with Kamala Harris: “Let’s put her with a rifle with nine barrels shooting at her. Let’s see how she feels about it when the guns are trained on her face.”

Cheney characterized this as “how dictators destroy free nations. They threaten those who speak against them with death.”

Meanwhile, in the final days of her campaign, Harris continued to call for unity, progress and inclusion. In a sweeping speech at the Ellipse in Washington DC before a huge and appreciative crowd, she warned of Americans losing their fundamental freedoms if they submit to the will of the “petty tyrant” mentioned above.

With only a few days left of this exhausting campaign, the candidates’ closing statements could not be more different. There’s violent, hateful rhetoric and threats of retribution from one side. There’s inclusion, sanity and promises of good will on the other. Autocracy on the one hand; the preservation of democracy on the other.
I'll be on the side supporting inclusion, sanity, the rule of law and the preservation of democratic institutions; that said, I stand with Harris.

I included you on that; yes, I know Arizona's not exactly on the Pacific Coast....
and if you need to know why I can't support someone that openly hates people like me, well...
I recently had to hang up on a relative who'd helped me for years over the election; I couldn't get her to see reality and leave Trump so.... :huh: :shrug:
 
Trump was found guilty of sexual abuse.
Trump is a convicted felon.

East Coast, family voted for Kamala Harris as she is a loving, supportive woman with a lot of courage.

I have friends that are Trumpers, it's a precarious topic we try to avoid...they know I'll never, ever come to their side on that one.
 
As I sit here and stare at the live results - and look at the amount of red - I have no sympathy for my country or its citizens anymore. Whatever bad things happen to you as a result of this, you brought it on yourself. A convicted felon and a traitor to our country, a guy who incited a riot at our capital, is our president again. I've never been a political person, never cared at all until Trump came around. Then I got interested because even I - a non political person - could see what a threat he was to our country.

When everything from Project 2025 comes to fruition, and you find yourself suffering as a result, don't you dare ask for pity, and don't you dare come on the internet trying to sell a sob story. You are responsible for this. Great job, America! 4 years of enhanced racism, sexism and Russia controlling our country through trump.

Yes. A lot of it was exactly that simple.

"Are you better off now than four years ago?"

It was literally an election of trumpet, there is no other way to look at it. but sure, lets see if the orange traitor reduces prices like people expect. Even if prices decrease, at what fucking cost is it worth it? The loss of women's lives? Great, cool story America, trumpet brought down your prices, but now the graves are filling up with women's bodies.

It was a rejection of a woman as president. Bigotry won this one. Too many men with frail egos would rather a convicted felon be their president over someone with titties.

You do know some states were already getting a full abortion ban before Trump was in office..?

Project 2025 was written by a think tank is democratic propaganda. The real traitors are Obama, Biden, Kamala and Waltz. Doing your own research outside of the mainstream media does wonders.

And that in a nutshell, my friend, explains a good bit of why Kamala Harris lost; when you continually browbeat, denigate, castigate and insult Americans (a/k/a Hillary's "Deplorables", Biden's "Garbage" comment, etc.) for not agreeing with you, at some point you'll get a reaction. Last night was an example of it...

Perception vs. reality, as I told @Black Angel a few months ago, was the mantra of this election. If you simply look at the economic data, taking out the Covid years of 2020 and 2021, Trump had a worse economic record than either Obama or Biden.

However, the perception of Trump's first administration, @Reddington, wasn't "Woe is me" but "I had more money in my pocket, Gas was cheaper, Utilities were cheaper, The World was at relative peace and stability, etc." and as Doc points out, that's what people saw on their kitchen tables, in their pocket books, at the southern border and around the world.

And they voted accordingly.
 
To be honest, Kamala wasn't going to win. She didn't do much campaigning. All she was going to do was copy Biden's plan, lol. Kamala's supporters need to acknowledge that she has lost and return to her role as an attorney

“Terrible,” she said when asked how she was doing. “I’ve been at this a long time and this time I really thought we were going to do it.” At 80, Howes said she was less hopeful now than she had ever been that she would see a female president.

“I am so angry at white women. I thought they were going to get it this time,” said Howes, who is white. “And those white women who voted for those ballot measures and then went to vote for Trump – figure that out.”

After appointing the justices who overturned Roe v Wade, Donald Trump was found liable for sexually abusing E Jean Carroll. Despite a campaign to remind women that their vote was a private matter that did not need to be shared with their husbands, national exit polls showed white women chose Trump by a sizeable margin.

“We’re going to feel sad and sorrowful, but then we have to get up again,” she said. “We can’t just accept that our democracy is over.”

This democracy has survived that little bump in the 1860s, it survived the Red Scare, and Nixon's "plumbers", it has survived "Machine Politics" in places like Louisiana and Chicago and whatever you want to call that mess in NYC....
