Out of Frame:

There's a lot of things happening on Out of Frame as of late, besides movie reviews being frequent and the fourth installment of The Red Flux about to be posted, that is.

Tomorrow will be the last month of August, and with that, we can share information on what was without a doubt our most successful month thus far.

Other-wise, on Aug. 1st, I will be posting an article talking about what to expect from Out of Frame. This will include a reapplied focus on blogging, writing, and social-networking.

Out of Frame:
The website definitely has a lot of maintenance. I work hard to be able to publish at least one thing everyday. Whether it be a short-story, novel increment, blog, or movie review, you can always expect content on the website. With that, the continued expansion is necessary. I wanted to keep Out of Frame about the writing, but I also wanted to optimize the success brought from my movie reviews and columns. And in such, very soon We Talk Films will be opened. The website will have various different writers for it, that way a lot of the work-load will be off of me. As well as this, it will have the latest movie news and information.

Other than that, I am also working on a Social-Networking Forum. The website is meant to be something of a hybrid between mediums such as Reddit and Facebook, while at the same time retaining the small, ground-level discussions offered by a forum. I don't really know when I will be able to take it off the ground. Basically, if I do it, I want to be able to work up the funds to keep it successful. I would like to be able to have a couple hundred dollars to invest in it. When I purchase with Go Daddy, they will let me have some coupons for advertising, and hopefully, that will last us the first six months. After that, I would like to be able to consistently invest $100 into Ad Words, and other forms of advertising.

I don't want to be hasty about starting the website, all the same, I also don't want to waste anymore time than I have to. I have it penciled in to start solidifying in October, but it might take longer. I'll be starting college in, ... six days, and while I don't think it will be nearly time consuming or strenuous to me, I can't say for certain. (I notice that whenever I have something to occupy my time, I can come back to writing, or anything else with a new found inspiration.)

Thanks.

Out of Frame has had 6,000 views so far this month, and is already only 700 views away from beaten our personal best.

8/20/14:

I started college on Monday, and since then, there has definitely been an added amount of stress for me. No matter, it's something that I'll to trek through for the betterment of myself. I have a feeling that it will become more and more routine as the weeks continue to progress.

Even still, I have been keeping everything active on the website with writing, blogs, poetry, movie reviews and more. In two days, the sixth installment of The Red Flux will be posted. In twelve days, I'll be opening a new movie website called We Talk Film. I also might be opening Word.Club a social-networking forum hybrid, but it all depends on where I am at when the time comes.

9/6/14: I have been having some computer issues for the last five days which is why Out of Frame hasn't been updated recently. However, I am back on the horse, meanwhile Worder Club and We Talk Film should open sometime in the next week or so. I want to make sure everything is right with them, and quite frankly, I need to rebuild the momentum that I had before we decide to start them back up. Below is what I am planning over the next few days.

9/24/14:

I am simply doing this as a little update... a lot of damages were done with the lack of activity for September, but Frame will bounce back with a vengeance. October will be the biggest month in the website's history in-terms of activity. Since September didn't turn out as explosive as I would have liked, this only means that October will be that much more packed.

I still have 7,000 words off of the first chapter of That Sammy Kid to publish between now and the end of October. As well as 10,000 words worth of The Miasma: Forever with Love, a survival horror in the same breath of various horror films, particularly slashers.

Also, I will be publishing 31 video-game reviews on OOF and over 40 movie reviews on We Talk Film, including reviews of new releases like Annabelle and Gone Girl.

Worder Club will also be finally taking the needed steps to connect to a widespread audience. (The first step would probably be opening it to the public, eh? But right now, the server is holding us back. We'll hopefully be able to fix that in the near future.)

I'll be Participating in National Book Writing Month!
http://www.oof-writing.com/blogging/ill-be-participating-in-national-book-writing-month

----

I have been really busy over the last couple of weeks with college and keeping We Talk Film up and running. I can't say that will be changing soon because I will be starting to work part-time, but in an effort to challenge myself. I have decided that I want to participate in National Book Writing month. That is, exactly as it sounds, writing an entire book in a month. The book is currently called Crider and while I don't have all of it mapped out, I will sooner or later.

I hope National Book Writing month goes well for you! :)

Thanks for the update.

It didn't. At least, not in the sense that I was able to finish a whole book. In-fact, I didn't even come moderately close in that regard. I started writing a book called This is a Fiction and I didn't make a whole lot of progress with it. I finished the first chapter, which amounted to about forty or so pages, but I didn't do much else. I was a full-time college student and I recently started a full-time job that demanded a lot of my time. That, and I had two new websites that I started and wanted to be able to contribute content in. I did find my 'voice' for the character in the new book, and I hope to have the first of the three novels finished sometime in February.

Out of Frame is on the fritz as well. I can't really keep maintaining it the way that I have been. Or, I could. But I am not convinced that it'd actually be moving me forward in any way, shape, or form. I decided that it was time to step away from Out of Frame at least momentarily and reevaluate my game-plan moving forward. My first novel Blind Salvation will be published in February. The book will be available on Kindle and various E-book readers, and will also be up for purchase on paperback. Depending on how the sales go, I will publish either The Red Flux or The Adventures of Vulpecula: Book One in June before setting my sights on The Aeonian in February 2016. A lot of ambition, I know, but I feel like I really need to step up my game.

The Film Site (dot) NET and The Gaming Site (dot) NET are two examples of me doing that. I am working at making them appeal to a larger audience. The road has been tough, but we'll see if something can come out of them.

I'm very excited about the upcoming months, very excited about having my first book put out there, and excited for being able to finally do some of the things I've always wanted to do.

A huge congratulations to you!

I will be looking for book your in paperback form. Looking forward to reading this book.

I am having a few people work on the covers right now, and I'll see which one I like best before moving forward with that. I hope to have a more presentable idea of it all by around early January.

Update - 12/24/14: Out of Frame Writing might be taking a small sabbatical for the foreseeable future, but I have been hard at work with various other activities. The Film Site (dot) NET and The Gaming Site (dot) NET have both been on fire as of late, bringing some of the latest reviews and opinion. Most recently, The Gaming Site, there have been reviews of Slender: The Arrival, Batman: Arkham Origins - Blackgate, Titanfall and Call of Duty: Ghosts. On The Film Site, there have been reviews of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part One, Horrible Bosses 2 and Dumb and Dumber To. Next up, I'll be writing a review of The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies, Into the Woods and The Interview.

I encourage for all of the readership to contribute material to the websites and help them continue to flourish.

Book Update: The publishing process for Blind Salvation has been smooth thus far. I have already done the second and third draft, then, after some of by beta-readers offer feedback, I will start for the fourth and final draft. The book's publishing date is still at February 1st, 2015, but the date is subject to change if there is complication. I am also working on the cover-work for the book, but not too much progress has been made. In the end, I hope that I will have something for you before January. Several different individuals have lent their abilities to me on this task, and I am hoping that I can use all of them, at least to an extent.

Today's New Years Day, and so I figured that I had to at least say something to all of you to let you know what the new year means, and what I hope to accomplish this year. 2014 has been a very intriguing year for me, it has been one of many firsts. I started my first full-time job, (I had another job when I was fifteen at a restaurant, but it was part-time and for such a brief time that it doesn't count.) I finished my first semester's worth of college with flying colors, even though I feel like I worked half-ass with most of it. My high-school teachers always praised me for being very proficient at 'bullshit,' which I think would likely make sense of some of the good grades I had gotten. I have never studied for a test, but I had at least a 3.5 for my whole time in high-school.

Sometimes I look at my own knowledge of History and English, and think, maybe I could try to be a more contributing member of society. Maybe I could change the world for the better somehow, but then I think, 'nah, I'm a writer, my objective is to put one word in-front of the other in an effort to make a coherent sentence.' I always sucked at Science though, and was borderline average at Math. I remember to say SOHCAHTOA to find the Sine, Cosine, and Tangent functions though, if that means anything. Math and Science are both black arts as far as I am concerned, because everything besides writing is white-noise. Fifty years from now, I'll write an epic that receives mixed-to-negative reviews from book aficionados and spend my whole time feeling bad about the project that I spent like ten years working on, only for Peter Jackson to make a movie series out of it after I'm dead. Or at least that's the dream...

Joking aside, I am writing this on The Film Site, The Gaming Site, and Out of Frame to let everyone know that I hope they have a great New Years, and I want to thank everyone that has joined me on this 'cyber ride,' of sorts.

I hope that The Film Site (dot) NET and The Gaming Site (dot) NET can both continue their efforts at bringing the latest news, reviews, and opinion to the public. I've always hated that little tagline, the "latest news, review, and opinion," because it makes me thinking that it seems like all I care about is the newest and latest. In December, I focused predominantly on 2014 movie releases and some of the newer video-games like The Evil Within, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, Batman: Arkham Origins - Blackgate, and so on. I did this for a number of reasons, I had them anyway, and also because I knew that it'd be more likely to bring everyone in as the sites kick off. However, in January, and forward from then, I'd like to be able to explore some other territories and share my love of foreign films and low-budget horror. (So, uh, get excited for that!) And with video-games, I have a large stack of video-games that I have been working through. (Catherine, Valiant Hearts: The Great War, Fatal Frame, Sherlock: Crimes and Punishments, and a few others)

I hope that in 2015, both websites can have even more guest reviews and reader contributions, as I don't ever want these websites to be a singular opinion or consensus, I want everyone to feel welcome to submit their reviews, columns, and whatever else they want to share, regardless of whether or not it's mainstream or popular.

For Out of Frame, my writing website that has been on the fritz since November, I have to say that I hope it can get everything back in gear by February. I don't know whether or not I'll be to keep at the same work ethic that I once had, which was kind-of insane, but I'd like to think that it can at least have moderately consistent material. Of course,

February 2015 will bring one of the biggest moments of my life as I publish Blind Salvation on e-book and paperback. I am extremely excited about this, and a little nervous, but it's a step that needs to be taken. Blind Salvation is the first full book that I have ever written. I wrote it when I was fifteen, and it was the book that made me realize that I wanted to be a writer. Not as a hobby. But as a life-style. I have written books since then, and some of me wanted to publish them first. But I decided this was where it HAD to start. With THIS book.

In February 2015, I will publish Blind Salvation, but I would like to have some other material on there as well. Another thing is that I badly need to redesign the website. I like the theme and I like the banner, but if I can find a better replacement, I'll take it, but I know for certain I need to do something with the layout. Make it 'cleaner'.

With all of this being said, once again, I wish all of you the best, and if you had a decent year with 2014, like me, I hope you have an even better one, and for those that feel kicked or beaten as the year comes to a close, hang in there, kid. All the best, ...

- That Nick Kid

I have been sitting on this information for a time, but won't be any longer. Blind Salvation is now available on Amazon and Create Space! It has been a long ride, and I am happy that it has finally led us here. I wrote this book when I was fifteen years old and have been waiting the last four years to release it to the public. The book is available at $4.99 on the Kindle as an eBook and on Create Space for $9.99 on paperback. The book will soon be available on paperback on Amazon over the next couple of days.

Thanks to everyone that has supported me on Out of Frame since May 2014, and I hope that you purchase a copy of the book and continue to support me down the line.
