Paper or Digital?

Books haven't quite died out yet and I don't think they will for quite some time, but with the advent of portable technology that's becoming smaller and easier to tote around, I don't see as many people carrying books unless they're for school.  So, what's your preference?  Books or tablets/e-readers/phones, etc?

Digital is simpler since you can always read without having to use the second hand.

I much prefer the feel of a real book in your hand, turning the pages, knowing when you're getting close to the end because of how much you have left.

I'd much rather have books for school in a digital format so I can search them easily. For more leisurely reading I do tend towards paper though.

This. At home I love having a real book, but having all books in one little device while travelling is a real luxury.

I have books available on various E-formats as well as in print.

And while I have signed the occasional autograph on a printed book, I have yet to sign somebody's Kindle.

Exactly the same for me.

Plus reading off a screen gives me a headache. I do have a couple of viking novels on my ipad, I had to change the colours round so I was reading white on a black background. Still couldn't get more than 2 pages, just couldn't concentrate. Real books I'm usually hooked on the first page.

And then there is this.

A little bit ago, I was doing some research, looking for a couple of lines in The Dark Night of the Soul by St. John of the Cross.

It is a 500 year old mystical epic poem, over 100 pages long, originally written in Latin.

There is something snug and nice about owning a physical copy of a book. Kind-of like how owning a DVD is different than simply having a digital download. I realize it's the future, and as a writer, I'll be accepting of that, but I'd like to always have my books in-print if given the choice.
