I have worked as a paid poster on multiple forums, I am still a paid poster on a couple of forums. I have also frequently hired paid posters on my forums. I think having paid posters on the forum is good because you will get activities as well as quality posters. I not only hire paid posters but also buy posting packages through web master forums. What do you think about paying for posts?

I’ve used paid posters before and the quality has always been a bit hit n miss. Sometimes you’ll get a decent contributor. Sometimes you just get trash.

It can be useful for kickstarting a new forum or reviving a dead one, but if you come to rely on them it can be a real money-sink. Better to post naturally, write engaging and quality content, and allow organic growth to occur.

It really depends what you want. I favour quality over quantity.

I've never got paid to post or paid for posts. I would rather do post exchanges than pay for posts. As for getting paid to post, I wouldn't mind making some extra bucks that way, but my content writing skills aren't superior to a lot of paid posters out there and I'm too afraid that they may want a refund if I do not meet their expectations.

They can be a nice boost in downtimes, but quality has always been a battle. It is almost best to consider them more of an ad campaign than content.

I am not against paying for content in the initial stages to help populate a new forum. I think it's a good idea actually.

If people get paid for forum posts, it might make the discussions less genuine and trustworthy. They might only post for money instead of actually caring about the topic. It's better to have real and natural conversations on forums where people are genuinely interested and actively participate. However, paying for forum posts could be a good way to "kick start" a forum.

I've never paid actual money for posts. I have requested packages on promotion forums (a service that you pay virtual cash for). I only do that to give my active regulars a sense of variety every once in a while. Seeing posts from different people for a change.

I've lurked a couple forums full of paid-to-post members and its just empty nothingness people are posting. You can tell nobody has ANY interest in what they're discussing. The conversations are very dry, flat and have no emotion, members have no connection with each other.

Agreed on your second paragraph.

That was cheeky @Nebulous, you slipped under my radar :P
