Do you pay attention to your post count on forums?

Do you pay attention to other people's post counts? Do you think that people with a higher post count get more respect than people with lower post counts?

I do till I'm the one with the most post. Then I can rub it in your face

Now for the more serious questions.

They get more respect, but only by the people who are new to the forum.

I know people with lower post counts with a lot more interesting stuff to say.

Yes and that's because some forums will sending you a warning that your account will be suspended if you don't make a certain amount of posts per month.

Yes and I do that to see who is active and who isn't.

Sadly I think I would have to say yes. What members don't understand, however, it's not the post count that really counts. It's the quality of the posts as some members up their post count by using a smiley or a one word reply.

Not really. Also this is the only forum I know of in which the user with the most posts isn't the creator of the forum

I usually keep an eye on the forum post counts but thats only because I am ocd about spam posts.

I'm not that bothered with post counts. But sadly new members tend to treat people with higher post counts with more respect.

No.

The people with the highest post counts are usually full of hot air!

Seriously though, I prefer to read interesting comments. At the other site I go to there are a LOT of word games and some folks play them constantly to get their post count up. I don't know why, but I have a lot of fun playing the word games here. I suppose it's because the other people playing make it fun.

At my other site I never play the word games because they are as dull as ditchwater.

I have had a little bit of an obsession with numbers since I was a little kid, whenever I post, I always get a jolly from the number increasing and I tend to frequently go to websites to calculate how long a championship reign has been within the World Wrestling Entertainment. I guess the answer is yes and no, yes in the sense that although I usually tend to care about the post counts and no because I generally don't base any sense of success on it.

I pay attention only when they mean something. For instance in some RPG threads that I like to play in the post count is your characters rank. So if you get into battle with another character in the game the one with the highest post cound has to win.

Other than that not really.

Unless it's freakishly long like 100,000 or something and then I'm like

Kind of. I don't really mind, I just post, and don't really notice my count

To be honest, I've never really paid much attention to how many posts I have on any forum, even my own. As for post counts on other forums, I'll only look at that in terms of activity and how recent the posts are. Other than that, I don't look at post count too much.

MUST GET THE HIGHEST POST COUNT ON EVERY FORUM.

Kidding. But I do like to have the most posts on a forum.

I used to think that post counts meant respect. Now I realize that posts counts (like age) is nothing but a number. I could care less about them.

i used to...its not that important to me any more........on my usual forum im up to nearly 62k...our top poster has just gone over 210k.......he dosnt get any more respect for it......in fact although hes a really nice guy he does comeover as an attention whore at times, and he does have an ego cos of it.....you know when hes getting close to finishing a k cos he starts posting in the forum games section more and more and more to build his count up quicker.....we used to do little congratz threads when someone hit a milestone....dont bother now cos it got boring cos he was doing a k every few days.........annoys me when someone else makes a milestone and no one bothers cos i think that sort of thing is important
