I just came from a forum where there is a member posting while drunk. He admits to being drunk and his posts leave no doubt that he is. Have you ever seen something like this? Have you ever posted while impaired by either alcohol or drugs?

Just took another look and this guy is not making any sense at all. There are three mods on and I'm not understanding why they are not doing something to stop this. The whole board is getting blasted with drunken posts. It's funny in a way but if I was a mod there, I would put an end to it. Can't imagine how he's going to feel when he's sober and reads what he's posted.
I'm vaguely sure I remember when on one board, a guy who uses drugs would say some weird stuff. But since it was harmless compared to every thing else. Was more funny then anything else. And since I've been told how I can be when on certain prescribed drugs. I'm pretty happy I've never been able to get online when I was on that stuff. I'd have been liable to have done something stupid.
Some of the members are now getting pissed. They are posting replies WTF are you talking about? I feel like replying upside down but I'd probably be the one who got an infraction.
Still cannot believe the mods are letting this go on and on.
Ive done it once or twice.. Never posted anything too bad.
One time I had some friends over. My drunk friend thought it would be funny if he opened up MSN (instant messenger) and started to talk to my ex (daughters mom). He was saying that he (posing as me) wanted to get back with her and all this other crap. The next day I got a call and wanted to talk about what I said to her on the computer. I didnt have any idea what she was talking about. Then I remembered that a friend asked if he could use my computer. I told her that and she didnt believe me at 1st. Took a little convincing. lol

Went back to the same site this morning just to see what was going on. The guy is now sober and apologizing for all his drunken posts. The posts have all been either cleaned up or deleted. Wondering how this guy feels reading all his drunken posts and if he'll do it again.

If he's apologising, probably not. If he found humour in it, then there would be a chance of recurrence.
I don't do any of that stuff so no that would never happen to me. I seen others do it and it's been entirely all harmless stuff that get a laugh from the posts at most. ZNB had a few who done that one of which was an admin which meant following behind him and removing his posts since we couldn't restrict him from posting due to his admin title. The other was a regular member who was put on mod que till he sobered up. I recall moving his topic to the elite lounge and approving all his posts so he could see what he did while drunk. It was funny to say the least.

Wow, if someone were posting while drunk on my forum, I'd probably suspend them until they were sober again and until they can start talking sensibly again. I've never had a drunk member on my forum, but I'm sure hanging around a drunk member is just as bad as hanging around someone who's drunk in real life.
Of course, this would depend on how drunk they were at the time the posts were being made. If they were really intoxicated, then I'd go for a suspension until they were completely sober, but if they weren't too bad or they didn't sound that bad, then I'd let them carry on with their conversaitons. I suppose the best bet would probably be to keep an eye on the member, as if they're really intoxicated they could be just as much trouble as your average troublemaker.

Well, I think it's one thing if a members' posts didn't make sense from the start, like if English wasn't their first language or whatever. However, I'd be pretty suspicious if it was someone I knew who was generally a good poster and all of a sudden they started doing posts that didn't make any sense or whatever have you.

Dolt! I never even thought of that. That would actually be a better idea. Put them on Mod Queue until they get back to normal, then once they prove they can start posting properly again, or how they were posting before they drank, then they'd be taken off it.
