Have you ever been to a potluck?

We had our yearly meeting today at the District Office. Well it was half meeting / half potluck. The meeting was from 10 to 11am then the potluck was from 11am to 12pm.

The theme this year was Mexican. Everyone was suppose to bring a mexican dish. I didnt, I brought macaroni and cheese because its easy to cook and I can't screw that up.

I put extra cheese in it and a few people commented on how good the macaroni was.

Usually only half the people bring something but I think every person who came brought something this time. There was about 20 or 30 people there so there was a ton of food.

I could not try everything but what I did pick was pretty yummy. We have some talented cooks at work.... Well unless they had their husband/wife make something..

I bet they made the meeting mandatory which means the potluck was mandatory. You were forced or made to feel obligated to cook something large enough to feed a mass quantity of people.

What the hell is wrong with your employer?

Just kidding. I love potlucks! Whoever came up with the idea is ingenious.

Come to think of it, they do a Mexican potluck every year. I bet its because like half of the staff are Hispanic. lol. Im pretty sure they know how to cook other things. They should do an italian themed potluck next year. mmmmmMMMMmmmm

Yeah! Had a potluck once at my house when I was 15 for a class party.

Nowadays when I'm invited to a potluck I'll buy the drinks and some snacks :/ I'm not a good cook. I wish I could do something more though.

I'm actually planning a surprise potluck farewell party for my friend now. Gonna have it this Saturday. I kinda hate it when people don't reply to my FaceMails. Only two people agreed to bring food so far :/

Maybe I should have one of those mandatory potluck meetings! XD

I have been to a potluck lunch hosted by the hospital. I have to be very honest here by saying I will only eat food prepared by people I know. It's just this thing that I have because I don't know how clean the other peoples kitchens are

Last time we had one, the theme was Italian (sorry you missed it Nebulous) and I bought a huge tray of lasagna from the Italian resteraunt. I simply had no time to make anything to bring.
