Purchased IPB 3.0!

I am developing a new community, and it's going to be powered by IPB 3.0. The specifics of the forum and the genre is top-secret, but when we open, I'll be sure to let Off Topix know about it!



Is anyone else using IPB 3.0? Do you like it?

I like IP.Board but it does cost a lot.

Also, it packs a lot of meaningless features kind of,

and it's not open source.

Well IPB is much better than vBulletin at this point. The support is great, as are the great user permissions. Though the designing back end is a bit hard, generally, the software is great!

I use to use IPB 3.0 for a while, but it just cost too much for me. It's a very nice set of software though and it is very customizable compared to most others.

If I had to be honest I haven't had a lot of experience with IPB and I am not a great fan of it. I'm going to see if on any website I can get the first IPB (Which was open-source) and upload it to a host to see what it looks like

I used IPB Free before, had an actual live forum on there, and I did not really care for it. I would rather use SMF or MyBB than IPB. It was way too difficult for me, really.

Ashley, the designing system is difficult if you don't know what you're doing- otherwise, it's great.

I don't think IPB was ever open source. Free, yes, but not open source.

I don't have my own community, but I have tried out IPB 3 before. It's a great system, so good luck with your forum. I'm interested to see what it's all about.
