She clearly doesn't read her Bible enough as there were many attempts on Jesus' life as recorded in the Gospels that failed because Jesus wouldn't let them take him until the proper time for it to happen. If he wanted to slip past them then he could have easily have had done so as if he had done before. He didn't do so because it wasn't his Father's will for him to do so when they would ultimately take him to the cross and crucify him.

She is the type of person you become when you spend time in church but spend little of it actually paying attention to anything being said. You just show up for appearences sake but don't actually care to be there and wouldn't be there if no one expected you to be there. There are a lot of people who fit that description and they make a mockery out of the ones who genuinely want to be there and are actually trying to learn something from the Bible and the people who correctly preach from it.

That was one of the misconceptions everyone back in Roman Judea had about Jesus; they thought he was going to be a physical Messiah, leading the people out of Roman bondage...as the verse above says, His kingdom was not going to be this world but the next.
