The terrible truth about cannabis: Expert's devastating 20-year study finally demolishes claims that smoking pot is harmless

One in six teenagers who regularly smoke the drug become dependent
It doubles risk of developing psychotic disorders, including schizophrenia
Heavy use in adolescence appears to impair intellectual development
Driving after smoking cannabis doubles risk of having a car crash
Study's author said: 'If cannabis is not addictive then neither is heroin'
The drug is currently legal in two states - Washington and Colorado
A further 21 states have allowed it to be used for medicinal purposes
Obama said earlier this year cannabis is not as dangerous as alcohol

I thought claims that smoking pot was harmless were smashed a long time ago?

I can name someone personally who suffered and still suffers from the 'doubled risk of psychosis.'

I don't smoke but I have two questions:

How big was the study sample for this research? Who were the participants?

I'd like the see the underlying evidence to support these claims before I believe it.

"the terrible truth" based on opinions and a study"

really?

anything can be harmful if you word everything correctly and take a few stupid studies and make what ever as facts... you can die by breathing, make sure you don't do it anymore... (;

anyways, what's the reason of creating a new thread about cannabis when there's already a thread that's in this same section that the subject is with-in?

and you posted it in that said thread!

I thought there could be a separate debate about the study, and which evidence would be dismissed out of hand by the weed fanciers just because it did not serve their agenda, as well as an overall pot thread where the general use while, say, flying a commercial airliner or conducting heart surgery was discussed.

right, but now there's two discussions in two threads due to you posting the same thing in both...

no, i was merely replying to your contradictory answer to my question about you creating a new thread about cannabis when there were already a live thread about said subject and that you posted the same thing that you posted as a new thread in the said live thread that was already present...

not complaining or anything, just confused on why...

Psychiatric issues, stunted intelligence... yeah, that pretty much describes all the people I know who smoke weed.
